Marsha, Thanks for such a quick reply! Here is my MATHIS information that I have: Plez (Pleasant?) MATHIS was probably born in the mid 1800's and married Betty TURNBOLT or TURNBULL. The children I have for them are Ed, Annie, Birdie, Emma, and William Frank or Frank William MATHIS. Frank is my g grandfather, born 21 Aug 1882 in TN. He married Missouri Tennesse BYRD in 1904, but I don't know where. Frank and Tenny moved around alot between AR and MO finally settling in MI. The surviving MATHIS family all have different stories and ideas of where they came from and when things happened and I have come to a lot of dead ends. It is believed that either one of the MATHIS' or BYRD's came from a Cherokee tribe. Frank's birthplace could by Perry, TN; Perry Co. TN; Paris, TN; and possibly Stewart Co. TN. Frank and Tenny MATHIS children are: Theodore Nellie Belle born 1905 Homer Ed born 1907 Woodrow Wilson born 1913 Frankie Lucille born 1915 Mammie Marie born 1917 Rita Mae born 1922 Cecil Arb born 1925 (my grandfather) James Utah born 1926 Clydia Jewelldean born 1929 Hope our families connect!
