I sure do hope that someone out there can help me. I'm starting to wonder if my husband and his family exist, or if they're just figments of my imagination. :o) I am looking for in fo on John Thomas BURCHAM b. 14 Apr 1888. I assume that he was born around Stewart County, but you know what can happen when you assume! His father, whose name I don't know, died about 6 months before he was born. His mother's name was Sally. He had two older sisters, Lillie and Cora. His mother remarried a Mr. NASH, and they had at least two children, one of whom was a daughter named Orlene. John went on to marry Laura BRAKE, probably in Stewart County, and probably around 1914-1915. Their children were : Thomas B. b. 20 Oct 1916, John Henry b. 3 Sep 1918, Warren Gamaliel Harding b. 2 Nov 1920, Arthur William b. bet 1921-1924, Dorothy Orlene b. 17 Jul 1925, Gloria Laverne b. 21 Oct 1927, and Fay Newton (Newman?) b. 27 Jun 1930. Laura died 29 Dec 1930, and the children were split up. Dorothy and Gloria ended up with their Aunt Cora Galloway, and were raised in Memphis. The older boys were with their dad, but did spend some time in an orphanage in Tennessee. Fay, the baby boy, was raised by Laura's sister and brother-in-law, Mattie Belle and Cale Warfield. They raised him around Erin. This is all that I know. I'm married to one of Fay's sons, and I would like to do this genealogy in Fay's memory. He died this last January, and in the last few years, had been interested in finding out about his roots. I have a hard time even thinking about him as I'm typing this letter. If any of this information looks familiar to you, or if you can help me at all, it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help, Tricia Burcham
