FRAME, worked for the RR (listed on his death certificate) and that they moved from Indiana to Van Buren, Ark. because he was with the RR. He died in December, 1884. Would there be any RR records? How would I even find out what RR? Thanks, >> Leslie: Railroads have consolidated so many times in the recent past, they did not transfer old records, between them on former employees, usually just retain the current employees, and since Railroad retirement went into effect, send the necessary information to the Government, Railroad Retirement Board, and do away with old records. In 1884 RRR was not in effect, nor Social Security, therefore I am sure as far as railroad records go there would not be one unless you can find where it was in court for some reason, then it would be in the court records.. I have tried to get many records on older, retired or dismissed employees, that have since passed retirement age and they are basically non-existent. Now I can tell you this, Van Buren Arkansas only had two railroads at that time they were the Frisco (St. Louis and San Francisco) S.L.&S.F.. and the Missouri Pacific (M.P.), then just 6 miles away at Fort Smith Arkansas they had a branch line from the Kansas City Southern (K.C.S.) None of these at that time went to Indiana, so could not establish a connection with the two areas, ie Arkansas and Indiana. Ira --part1_c3f158dc.24d44c8d_boundary--
