Hi Gabbie, Thanks for the information on the Library being closed and when it is expected to open. Thanks also for your offer to copy the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery from the Cemetery Book, but I already own the book, so have the information. The information in the book as to the directions to cemeteries along New Hope Road are mainly wrong. Pleasant Ridge is further down the road than 1.7 miles. The Willow Point Cemetery is at 1.7 miles. I spoke with Joan Hatley and Darlene Watkins / Christopher <whatever she goes by now>, as well as Virginia, when I was there a few ago, as to why it was left out of the Benton Co. Cemetery Book. All I received in answer to my questions was blank stares, I don't knows, and Darlene located & surveyed the cemetery but her input was ignored. I don't know what the right answer is and really don't care. I just know the Cemetery is not in the book and should be. Somebody within the last 30 years has demolished the Willow Point Cemetery for personal gain. I have persoanl accounts from members of Gen Society confirming what occured, and to top is all off, a trailer house was placed over it. I'm not going to get off this topic and will keep pressing and pressing until: 1. The Gen Society straightens out their maps and directions in their Cemetery Book for the cemeteries on New Hope Road. 2. They issue an Update to the book that includes Willow Point Cemetery. 3. The person who destroyed the Willow Point Cemetery is prosecuted under the Tennessee State Statues. I use this person as an example to my kids as to what "white trash" really is. This type of stuff has go on way to long in this area and needs to stop, NOW !! This isn't the personal property of the current landowner or the current county residents any longer. I for one will no longer allow this travesty to perputrated upon our heritage. Some of the people in that cemetery are my wife & children's grandparents and I will not let them be 'flushed on' without extracting a HEAVY price for what THEY have done !! And that includes the people who allowed it to occur. The above 'tongue lashing' is not meant for you, so please don't take it personally that I used your email as a vehicle to vent my frustration with this situation. I regard your inputs and discourse in high esteem, as I do the other members of the DC community. My anger is directed at the residents of Benton County who did this and those who let it happen with impunity. I only share with you my despair and disgust.
