Does Stewart Co. have a Genealogy Soc.? or is it still a Historical Soc.? When I went to a Meeting of the Historical soc. there in Nov 1994 they were not Interested in Genealogy but Restoring and Photographing old Buildings and was'nt Interested in helping with a "TENN.RIVER COUNTY'S " 4 day Seminar semilar to the Reunion we had at Paris Landing. If the same person is still in charge of the Historical Soc. they need a new Genealogy soc. and I would Help them start one. There are a LOT (more than we had) of loose papers DEEDS,WILLS,MARRAGE REC'S,TAX REC'S,ECT-ECT (dating from 1804 to 1826)_ in Boxes in the Basement of the Court House there if they hav'nt been thrown out! I know this for a fact for I researched them in 1993 and they Need to be sorted, and copied and then put in Acid free boxes and stored in a Hummid Controled place. and I would help do this if there is anough help.It would be a GOOD Project for the Danville Crossing groupe along with the Stewart co.Genealogy people.gabbie > >==== DanvilleCrossing Mailing List ==== >Okay.... so I don't descend from anyone...... >Now What ???? > >
