    1. How to Save a Web Image
    2. David L Snow
    3. Folks, For those of you who are having a problem downloading and saving the Map of the 23rd District......... Let's have short education class in 'how to download and save an image from a website'...... ..........and for those of you who don't know but were to afraid to ask....shame-on-you....this is not the List to be BASHFUL ON.....we help each other here.....you can ask 'ignorant' questions here....NO 'stupid' ones. I know....what's the difference.....'ignorance' is NOT HAVING THE KNOWLEDGE.......and we ALL SUFFER THAT about our ancestors. "STUPID" is PRETENDING you have the knowledge, but DON'T........AND DON"T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. Case in point......I'm IGNORANT about alot of things about women, and STUPID about the REST......like most men (and husbands)......we pretend, but don't really know what makes you tic........'nough said.... To download a graphic from a webpage........ place your mouse curser on the image, and 'click' the far right button on your mouse....... a 'pop-up screen' will appear...... go down the 'list' that appears with your curser, and 'click' on the line that says: 'view image' a new image will appear in your web-browser. This is the file you want to save to your hard-disk. Once it has totally appeared as a new browser page......'click' on the 'File' icon at the top-left of your browser. a new pop-down window will appear......find and click on the line 'Save As'.....select a directory and file name from the new pop-up window.....and 'click' on 'Save' ...(or something similiar depending on your browser). You are now an expert on downloading image files to your computer.....congratulations. Dave

    1. Re: Some Big Sandy Families etc
    2. Hey, Dave! I would like any info on Big Sandy families. I have family that owned property there - the Barretts - and would like any info on them. One relative, Thomas Jefferson Barrett is my proverbial "brick wall". I have some deeds and that's about all. His son George Barrett and his father, George Barrett, also owned property in and around Smithland. Do you have any idea of where I could info on them? Would appreciate any help, suggestions, comments, etc. Barbara Barrett

    3. Donna, Glad you liked it..the Map...NOT MY WORK.....Larry Perry's Big Sandy.........yes.....but I won't share right now....and it's...MY WORK..... Don't want to be mean.......it's just I CAN'T FIND it right now.....don't REMEMBER where it's at. Made it out of the County Records......Look to the Benton Website for the County Districts.... I originally put them up there......not sure she kept them....after she took over. But.....I'll find it..... eventually..... 3. Thanks for the map. My computer is still "smoking" but succeeded in printing it out. Tried to guess where my families farms were before they were flooded out. Now I know. 3. Sorry to get your hopes up. Checked with my husband and he said there are two or three sets of the "Rushing" families. He said yours would not be connected to the one I told you about. 3. I will check with my husband on the dates and facts since he is better at this than I am. It is a very old plantation house still standing and with a family living it it. I am told that our farm was part of the orginal Rushing Land. It is about 4 or 5 miles west of Paris, Tn. I will get back to you after I pump him for information and find out some names from him to see if you are of the same family. 2. Donna, Thanks so much for the response. I will ask my niece over Christmas and get back to you. She is a lovely person and from a very nice family. She is a nurse with two young children and doesn't have time for the search herself, but seems to show an interest. Her family still has a home in the Big Sandy area. Happy Holidays, Peggy

    3. Who was it looking for info on the Rushing family? Wondering if they are inquiring about the bunch in Henry County? Old plantation house down the road from us settled by Rushings in 1800's. Part of the farm we are living on was at one time part of the Rushing Plantain.Dorothy ----- Original Message ----- From: "David L Snow" <dlsnow1@qwest.net> To: <DanvilleCrossing-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 18, 2001 4:39 PM Subject: Old 23rd Map of Landowners c.
