I don't know where she came from or who her parents were. I think there is a Looney graveyard around Henry Co? (I need to recheck this.) In the early 1800 there were a lot of Looneys in middle Tn. I've found several in Marshall, Maury, Lincoln Counties. Where were the indian lands in early 1800? I find 10 Looney men in this intruders list. Hi Cathy, You and I have discussed the Hilliards' a few years ago...if you will...allow to me get-up to speed.... Need to clear the fog...out of this old, tobacco infested brain..... My connection to the Hilliards' comes thru the Dortches..of Stewart, Henry, Benton and surrounding counties.... The Hilliards, as I recall, settled early at 'Hilliard, NC', where they owned huge Plantations....the Dortches, settled next to them after imigrating from England, in the early 1700's at what is now 'Dortch, NC'.......where they held smaller..eg....28000 acre Plantations...(ya ...28000).....the Hilliard Plantations were bigger...by alot.... The families inter-married quite frequently thru the subsequent generations......as you already know....and they moved west together when the farmland 'gave-out'.....they eventually sub-divided the Plantations into little 'Track-Farms" thru the inheritance of the genrations.....was a big problem for the later generations in the late 1700's in North Carolina.....they had to leave.....the size of the farms no longer produced a viable living for all the individual descendants..... I can send you my Dortch FTM file if you like.....but the their is plenty of Hilliard info on the Net.....and ....sorry to say...I trashed my Dortch files a few years ago and all the reference material.....(hey...I can temper-tantrums too...don't beat me up to badly ...<vbg>) ... Ashley, Dave's Baby: Welcome to your new family, cyber-family here! As your Dad says, names are just names in our genealogy search, but here on this "list" everyone seems like we are all cousins. Well, we probably are. As far as being a new mother, you have lots of adventures ahead of you. I have one tid bit of advice, cherish every single moment. Time goes by too fast. In a blink of an eye, your little baby girl will be grown, just ask your Dad. Do what your instincts tell you, you know your baby better than anyone else in this world, you are one. If you have any questions, all you have to do is ask. Everyone here is willing to help with advice, prayers, or only to listen. Paulette

Dear sister Ashley, If you don't remember my earlier posting, my daughter is 20 with a 9 mo. old baby girl, so I'm getting pretty good at giving advice to new mothers. We welcome you to the greatest privilege and responsibility of all -- motherhood. Yes, I agree with Paulette. The time seems forever, but it goes by so fast. Enjoy! And on days where you just can't sum up the patience, know that you are not alone. All you can do is the best that you can, and give lots of love to that precious bundle of joy. Each age has new exciting things to enjoy, and a new set of challenges. DON'T think you have to do it alone. You have to take care of yourself, too, because if you don't take care of yourself, then you can't take care of a little one.
