The only info I have at this time is Lennie Bell Durham born April 12,1878, her mother was a Bell before she married. Katie Bell is the only thing I have to go on at this time. Lennie Bell Durham married Wade Ambrose Wren --January 18,1894--in Houston Co.,Tn. They were married by Rev. Jarman Blake. And that is all I have. -----Original Message----- From: Dr. R. E. Toni, That is a BEAUTIFUL story...BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing it and for offering the same hope to everyone on this list and others. It is what we are all about, why we all do this, and the very unselfish reason for being genealogists! What a story! And how sweet of you! jan ----- Original Message ----- From: <THarper834@aol.com> To: <DanvilleCrossing-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 11, 1999 12:26 PM Subject: Re: Surname Roll Call > Jan, > You and Cher (and so many others) have been so helpful to me and have done > so much to bring people together that I wanted to share my excitement with > you. Janice - I am also doing the Wren's of Henry/Carroll Counties. These are the Robert and Mahala Wren from NC, settling in the Southern part of Henry between 1825-1830. If I can help, let me know. Regards, Vernon Keller, Texas

Hi I am looking for information on my Evan W. Bolton born 8 Mar 1833 in Humphreys Co,Tn parents were William Bolton and Jane Cooley. He married Frances Jane Parker 11 Mar 1856 she was the daughter of James M. Parker and possibly Anna Carnell. Evan and Frances were in Tx by 1858 in Dallas and Collin Counties. Would love to connect with any one researching these lines. Thanks in advance. Geneva in Tx
Jan Per your questions on Benjamin Palmer >also have you checked Confederate pension records or the Confederate questionaires? That is online at Tn. Dept of Libraries and Archives... Have you checked Davidson Co. yet?< He's not listed in the index of Confederate Pensions or the questionaires but he may have died before pensions were allowed. He or at least a B. M. Palmer from Stewart Co. is listed as being in Co H 50th TN Inf. From marriage records we're pretty certain his middle initial was M. We've looked generally in Davidson Co but I'm not sure what you're suggesting we check. Sue

To the person who was interested in Bell. I am sooo sorry, I accidentally zapped your posting and cannot remember your name. I found a Bell Cemetary in Henry County mapped on the Henry County Page at the TNGenWeb. Maybe you can find some of your ancestors there!! It will list by name and tombstone inscription. Happy Hunting! Marsha Marsha
Kathy, I would love to have his address. I live in Alabama so maybe he's not too far away. Thank you for all your help!! Marietta: I am from Paris originally. I do not know the specifics you need, but do know most of the ladies at the libarary who have worked diligently over the years to get those records in one place. Particularly, Mrs. McNutt. My uncle is funeral director at one funeral home and my cousin is funeral director at the other. I know that Dorothy Sykes (for Sykes/Sikes yes she is one of them) has worked very hard in compiling Funeral home records from McEvoys and they are published periodically in the Paris Paper. As far a church records, they may be there as well. Try the Henry County Web site at TN GENWEB and look under library resources. It has a list of all the available data. There is also a mapped cemetary section. Several of the older/smaller cemetaries have been mapped an are on-line. I wish you the best of luck, let me know how it turns out. Marsha urns out. Marsha
Jan, You and Cher (and so many others) have been so helpful to me and have done so much to bring people together that I wanted to share my excitement with you. Two years ago I received a phone call from a gentleman by the name of Randy Hudson all the way from Big Sandy, Tenn. He asked me if my husbands ggrandmother Ceabelle Floyd Hudson Harper could possibly be Isabella Floyd Hudson of Benton Co. IT WAS! Isabella just happened to be the sister of his gggrandfather Fekix Grundy Hudson. Talk about a thrill! A real LIVE cousin instead of talking tothe ones past. Well the other day I got another call from Randy and it was to tell me that he was going to Canada with his wife and son and instead of flying into Canada they decided to fly into Seattle to meet my husband and I. I was upset because I have just open a Ceramic shop and can't get away from it to meet him. Not to worry he says we will just come to you. I explained that I am almost 2 hours from Seattle and that is a long drive. Not to worry Randy says"we Country folk love to travel" Well Jan to my joy they did come all the way from good ole Tennessee to meet us and to say that it was a THRILL just isn't enough. We finally felt connected and talked for hours. The thought that there really is a live family member to talk to and share with and then meet face to face was something that I will carry with me forever. So yes keep bringing those people home and putting smile on the ones who went be for us faces as I know today that Fekix and Isabella are dancing on a cloud that finally we are a united family once again. Toni

Jan, You couldn't have said it better and I sure wish I had been able to go "HOME" and meet you and all the rest. I think your gggrandparents were standing in the corner saying "That's our Girl". You and so many others are what makes this researching of the past so fun and important. Your letter put a smile on my face today. Thanks Toni
