Lucy, I will file this information and let you know if the two families ever connect, when I find out for sure. Stan
Kimberly, Is the Legate cemetery the one just north of the Dover hwy. The one I am talking about is right on the Fort Campbell boundary. Stan
Lola, I found this message in my box with the hundreds...so not sure if I responded or not. I too am a Winters descendent. I can give you Nancy's line on back if you do not have it. She was the daughter of William Winters born 1829 and Nancy Duncan for starters. How much info do you have on the Winters? jan ----- Original Message ----- From: JOHNNY JENKINS <marze1@bellsouth.net> To: <DanvilleCrossing-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 09, 1999 6:45 AM Subject: Re: Roll Call > I also am a decendent of Winters . Rita, Not sure if Kimberley answered this or not, I have so many requests to get to I have gotten a little scrambled...but this is the "Jining" info on the Stewart Site: Meets 4th Tues. of each month except Jan.; Contact: Louise Eaton; 268 Crain's Landing Road; Dover, TN 37058; $5 annual dues, $25 lifetime dues. I am not sure if that is still correct or not. I joined several at the same time and have forgotten now what I paid to whom. So Kimberley, please correct if I get this wrong and we also need to revise on the site if that is wrong. Thanks a bunch and glad you are supporting the local organizations, Rita! They are really the backbone you know....there are tremendous assets to our "net societies on the lists" and we are probably able to do a better job at "discovery" of families long lost...but we have to have those folks on location to keep things straight! jan ----- Original Message ----- From: Jean Gilley <JGilley@TXK.net> To: <DanvilleCrossing-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 14, 1999 4:10 PM Subject: Benton Co. Stan - The family consisted of Joel, John, Noah, Harris, Nancy, Lucy, Arvilla, and Mary Lucinda. Several of the children were born in TENN - I'm not sure if all of them were. So, I don't know if the 2 families are related ot not. Joel's dad, William Bartlett McGregor was born 1770 in North Carolna, son of Bartlett McGregor. Sheila

Vanessa, I am so sorry. I didn't know that was the wrong cemetary. I was going by what I had read. Thank you so very much. Lola
A new "toy" has come to our attention. MIT has a "County Finder" search site where you can enter the name and it will return the present-day county and state: http://www.mit.edu:8001/geo jan
Rita, There were a limited number of those published and they have been sold out nearly 20 years... sorry, the only way to get one is to find someone who has one and wants to be rid of it. I don't know anyone...but will be glad to do lookups for you in the one I have. But information was just posted by Kimberly about upcoming books you can get. B. W. is our "storyteller" on Stewart site...I don't have his email right off but if you go "The Tales They Told" on the site you will see lots of his stories, all with his copyright and email addy! You really would enjoy some of those tales anyway! Few years ago I started collecting tales and stories from folks on the list and posting on the site with their copyright and permission ....we "discovered" some REAL talent right in our own backyard!
