I have a marriage between William ASHER & Jane RODNY 3-15-1857 in Henry Co. Tn. Could someone tell me the parentage of these two, if it is listed. Thank You.
Hello, Please remove me from the list. Suzanne
These are some pages you NEED to look at.... for Dickson http://www.rootsweb.com/~tndickso/Marriages.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~tndickso/1840census.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tn/dickson.htm This page is for any county of Tennessee http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tn/tnfiles.htm Cher
I don't think this is your Margaret E. Davis, but we have two Margaret Elizabeth Davis's in my husband's family. One born 9/2/1839 in Henry County. Her brother Elbert Eldridge Davis also had a daughter Margaret Elizabeth Davis born 6/9/1860. The father of Margaret Elizabeth and Elbert Eldridge was Lewis Davis, Jr. His father of course was Lewis Davis, Sr., first appearing in Stewart county, then in Henry county after Henry county was formed. Lewis, Jr. had two brothers James and John Adam. Since Margaret Elizabeth seems to be a family name maybe one of these was in Stewart county. As I said these do not seem to be you Margaret E. Davis but maybe the info will give some clues. I would like to find Lewis Davis, Sr. parents, but they are probably in Orange County,NC. Also do not have much information on Lewis Davis, Jr.'s siblings.
Does anyone having information on Margarett E. DAVIS, b. Jun 1850 in Stewart County? Who were her parents, siblings? Also need information on the following two ladies, please: Margaret ANDREWS, md 23 Oct 1869 in Henry County to Lewis Gilbert BEASLEY. and .... Sarah HUMPHREYS - also supposedly married to Lewis, but have not dates, etc. - children supposedly born in Stewart County. There is a history written re Lewis in the Stewart County History book, but we would like to know the names of the children from the three above wives. According to the history, he had one child by Margaret DAVIS, two by Margaret ANDREWS, and four by Sarah HUMPHREYS. We need birth & death dates for the wives & names , etc. of children. Any help on this family appreciated. Thanks. Jean S.
Anyone that didnt get a response to their request please resend today... yesterday was a BOOMER DAY!! And some folks may have slipped thru the cracks...... So, please send again... We dont want to neglect anyone! We are here and ready! Cher
How great of you all to offer to do this. I am looking for parents of William Rogers and Cynthia Jones. They lived in Hickman Co., TN. William died ca 1821, Cynthia died ca 1860. From NC and William probably had a brother Jesse. They had 7 children: Pleasant, William, Jones, James, 2 more sons and a daughter. Thank you
I am looking for the parents of Janie Stewart who married Edward Richards and they lived in Robertson Co., TN. His parents were Edmund and Sallie Warren Richards. They came from Franklin Co., Patrick Co., VA and moved from Robertson Co. to Macoupin Co., Ill. The Stewarts, Richards, and Warrens seemed to moved together. Thanks Sue
My gg/grandmother, Margaret Burns, was born in Stewart Co. in 1844. Her parents were Cyrus Iddo Burns and Elizabeth Enloe Burns, both originally from York Co., S.C. Elizabeth apparently died soon after, whether from childbirth is unknown. I'm looking for information on where she died and is buried. Any information very much appreciated. Nan Lambert

Cher may be too shy to say it, but I am going to tell the real story behind it even being available. SHE is the one that got William J. Nesbitt to reissue Primal Families of Yellow Creek, and if you do not have the book it IS a dandy, it IS still available. Cher does NOT make any money for the sales of this, nor did she ever, even though she did all the legwork, arranging for re-publication, contacts, etc., so please don't think I am trying to pad my pal's pocketbook. Taint so! The author and the publisher are the only ones to make anything, and it isn't much. It is just a great book, and someone was asking about it the other day...so here is tis. This has a LOT about families of the Dickson area in it, and I have found it really fun to read the stories in as well as the genealogy info. I am trying to think: Adams, Mathis, Bishop, Coleman, Murray, Thompson, James, Balthrop, Baker, Cooksey, Reynolds, Rye names among others. All of you on the name of a town, failed to mention Hohenwald TN is also the place of the largest Rest Home for retired elephants in the world. Old retired Circus elephants are sent there to roam free over many acres their last days, From what I have seen it is a great success and they seem very content, well fed and happy there, They are on TV here real often when a new one arrives on their "Retirement".they always make TV shots and show the welcoming committee with them (Other Elephants of course) Ira
Does anyone happen to know anything about the William MAXWELL family on the 1870 Benton County TN census with an Angline CRAIG age 30 living in his household as a housekeeper?
