Jack, JORDAN is a name all around this NC DANIEL family. I cannot tell you how many Jordan's are close to my bunch. Rev. Jordan SMITH lived next to the MARSHALLS in Jefferson County, GA. He was married to a Mary GAINER, d/o William GAINER RS-VA and Martha WILLIAMS of Petersburg, Surry County, VA, later Davisboro, Washington County, Georgia. Jordan FLANDERS, clerk of the court in Emanuel County, GA married a DANIEL and his mother was a JORDAN. The wife of Samuel TARVER, III of Richmond County, GA was a JORDAN. The wife of John TARVER of Morgan County, GA was a JORDAN, sister of Samuel's wife. The WHITFIELDS, JORDANS, WARRENS, BRYANS, WOOTENS, COUNCILLS and TARVERS were thicker than thieves and Counsel (Counsel Daniel WISE) is a middle name in my DANIEL bunch..... Another name you will see around this bunch is Warren, named for the WARREN family. JORDAN is also pronounced, JERDAN and sometimes spelled, JOURDAN. George JORDAN II and Sarah HUNT, the ancestors of these JORDANS I mentioned, died in your favorite stomping grounds, Northampton County, NC. However, their actual parents were George JORDAN III and Patience WARREN, hence the Warren connection to this bunch. To show you how close they all were, Patience's sister, Chloe WARREN, married Matthew WHITFIELD and their daughter, Elizabeth WHITFIELD, married Capt. Aaron DANIEL, who I think was either one of my GGF's or GGU's - I am not sure which. I think I can tell you the answer to that question when I find out who the parents of Chesley C. DANIEL (b. ABT 1815) of Burke County, GA, as well as the reasons for the ERWIN/IRWIN/IRVIN/ERVIN, WISE and TAYLOR connections in the first generation of my DANIEL bunch in Burke. John R. John, A Daniel son married a Williams daughter back in VA also. I wonder if she was a sister of the Martha Williams who married the Gainer. Somewhere William Daniel 1760/60 Emanuel CO, GA picked up the name Williams for his first (I think) son. You remember a Gainer son and William Daniel married sisters, Betsy and Jane Watts of Washington CO, GA. Lucy ----- Original Message ----- From: John R.
