Does anyone have any more information on this Daniel? My 3rd great grandfather was William Daniel born in North Carolina abt 1783. His mother's name was Delilah, father UNKNOW Daniel. Delilah had 8 children, I think as follows: Besy? b: ? NC m: Benjamin Elam Martha b: abt 1780 NC m: Henry Inman Jr. Delilah b: ? m: Smith Elizabeth b: 1790 NC m: John Smith William b: abt 1783 NC m: Sarah Matheny in Montgomery Co., NC or Montgomery Co. TN abt 1817 Barton b: abt 1788 NC m: Phebe Howell 1826 in Fayette Co., IL Nancy b: ? m: Inman? Rebecca b: abt 1800 m: Henry Smith 1833 in Fayette Co., IL. I believe that this family left NC before the war of 1812 or at least some of them did. There is a Jeremiah Jr., Basdel, & Barton on the rolls of Davidson Co., TN Militia Co. Delilah Daniel shows up on the Montgomery Co., TN Census of 1820 but without any information of children or herself. She also shows up on the 1818 & 1820 Census of IL, Washington Co./Bond Co. There is also a Jeremiah Daniel, father of the Jeremiah above in the 1818 & 1820 Census and is in the same age group approximately of Delilah. Maybe could be a brother of her husband. I believe that this family migrated from NC to TN and on to IL. I find no evidence that they went to Ohio, IN, and then IL. Any information would be appreciated. I know that the family was very religious, but can't remember whether they were Baptists or Methodists. I believe Baptists.
