Hi Payne, I don't believe that we have discussed my G-Grandfather on this list. Francis Marion DANIEL was born December 12, 1863 in Laurens County, Georgia. He remained in Laurens (in and around Dublin) all his life, and died October 24, 1948. He married (1) Sally DIXON, daughter of Thomas DIXON and Frances CANNON. Sally was born March 26, 1864, and died July 29, 1891 in Dublin, GA. He married (2) Rachel Viola ADAMS December 26, 1897, daughter of Abilene Horry ADAMS and Elsie Jane FORDHAM. Rachel was born June 28, 1876 in Laurens County, Georgia and died April 15, 1975 in Laurens County, Georgia. Francis was one of the founders of the 1st National Bank of Dublin. In 1898, he was elected as Tax Collector for Laurens County, GA. He built a number of commercial buildings in Dexter, GA where he was a merchant for over 25 years. Francis was the 2nd son of James Wesley DANIEL and Mary Elizabeth WATKINS (whom I have discussed on this board a number of times), his other siblings being: James W. DANIEL, Jr.(b. Jan 15, 1861; d. November 28, 1900) who married Martha Ann DAVIS, daughter of Elisha DAVIS and Nancy Elizabeth BRACK Anna Elizabeth DANIEL (b. July 17, 1865; d. November 11, 1930) who married Everett MONTFORD George Thomas DANIEL (b. February 05, 1867; d. February 03, 1887) I have more if you want it...... PD
