Payne, There are two Joseph LANES. Col. Joel was a son of "Junior" (1710-1776) and Patience McKINNE (1715-1759), d/o Col. Barnabus and Mary . His parents were Joseph LANE, Sr. (b. 1665) and Julian JARRELL of Halifax County, NC. Joseph, Sr. was a son of Thomas LANE, Sr. (1634-1708/9) and Elizabeth SHEPPARD nee JONES. So the LANE linage of Col Joel LANE was (Joseph, Jr., Joseph, Sr., Thomas, Sr.). Joel married Mary HINTON, d/o Col. John HINTON, Sr. and Grizelle KIMBROUGH. Do you remember that Grizelle CLEMENTS, what do you want to bet it does not flow back into this bunch. I still think these LANES all flow back to Southside into the early ISHAM, LANE, RANDOLPH and CLEMENTS connections we see, there. Some of the RANDLES we later see down in Greene County, GA have often stated they thought their RANDLES may well have been RANDOLPH, at some point. John R.
