    3. Yes, when they cross the Mason-Dixon line they seem to be forgotten by a lot of southern families. Don't ask me why I think this but I think quite a few Southern lines moved into Ohio, Indiana and Illinois when they opened up for settlement. I know some of my RENEAUS, after a short stop in Wilson County, TN ended up in Harrison County, IN. I also know my 4th GGF was buried there and I also know that RENEAU/RENO cousins fought on opposite sides in the CW. In fact two of them fought against one another at the Battle of South Mountain, MD on Sept 14, 1862 and they both died there. I also know a lot of northern families moved south in the same time frame and ended up fighting for the South during the CW and I am sure some of them fought against their Yankee cousins. Such was the way this country was settled where loyalty was to the state you lived in and not where you came from. . As for the name Pleasant, I saw quite a few instances of this name in some recent early deeds in Baldwin County, GA, usually as a middle name, which makes me think it may have been some type of Quaker moniker. You know, kind of like Relief, Patience, etc. Just a thought. This seems to match the Quaker migration which begin about 1800 as they moved to the new Ohio Territory after it opened up. These folks were very anti-slavery which is why they moved north. After they got there I am sure more than a handful of them became Methodists, too, because that was the general religious transformation that most Methodists underwent - Quaker -> Methodist.......
