    3. Yes, I used Norton Internet Security at one point and it really gets rid of SPAM but it also sends some messages to the trash bin, too. So be careful because you may miss some important messages and never realize it. SPAM is like all types of junk mail - you look at it and then throw it in the trash. Also, if you send out email messages, these SPAMMERS will find you, especially when you post to a public message board. All they have to do is go to these boards, search through their archives and "there you are." You can also bet they have robots that do all of this for them, automatically. So you really have few options in all of this. You can sit at home and never write anyone and sooner or later they will get tired of writing you and drop you from their lists or you can just do as I do, hold down the CTRL button, tag all of the SPAM messages and then click Delete. It is just as simple as that. Even if you never in your world use a certain email address, these suckers will find you. It is almost like they know your email address before you create it which tells me that ISP's are releasing your name and email address to others, probably for a fee. Or, one of their employees is collecting these addresses and selling them to others, who knows. The key is to never respond to one of these messages and never go to their website. As for firewalls, a software firewall is not worth a tinkers. The only kind to have is a hardware firewall -- an Internet router. That, keeps folks out. I have a hardware firewall (Internet router) but when you write 100's of messages a day, my email address is pretty easy to find........as is yours. You also cannot do anything about most of these messages, nor can the US government, because most spammers are located overseas, where US law cannot touch them. John R.
