    3. Thanks for your reply, I do know that Eustace Daniel is listed in New Kent county, VA. in the parish records. I do believe this family of Walter and Brett Daniel has never been researched. I wish I knew more about them, but unfortunately I don't. But he is most diffinatley a descendant of the Walter Daniel line of New Kent county, VA. Vickie Runforf471@aol.com wrote:Vickie, This post interests me; I've been chasing Eustace for some time. He appears first in Granville Co., NC and is listed on a 1753 tax list as "Hustis", son of "Edmund DANIELL". He is also listed as a member of the 1754 Granville militia along with a Thomas DANIEL. Edmund died abt 1755 in Granville Co. and wife Alice is estate administrator. Eustace later spends time in Edgecombe Co., NC (with wife named Sarah) prior to removing to Ga. He does appear on one Halifax record I have: 687-(203) John DANIEL of Green Co. GA to William PARKER of Halifax Co. 9 Feb 1805. 60 pounds. 60 acres that fell to Eustan(?) & Sarah DANIELL from the estate of James PARKER dec'd. Wit: William PARKER, Jr. J. MARSHALL. Nov Ct 1805. 3. Vickie, What is interesting is the name, Walter. Walter was a LANE name out of the Somerset County, MD LANE family that migrated into eastern NC through his son, Capt. William LANE. Walter LANE, Sr. d. ABT 1750 in Worchester County, MD was married to a Sarah WILSON. Interesting that we have the WILSON name in this bunch, right? Especially since one of T&E's kids married a WILLSON. Capt. William LANE b. 1694 in Nusswadox, Somerset Co, Maryland married a Penelope BRYAN and their son, Levin LANE of Jones County, NC also married a Penelope BRYAN. Levin (ABT 1730-1775) had brothers, Israel and Abraham LANE. These LANES also match the profile of my Daniel-Lane bunch, they die at relatively young ages, "like flies." <grin> I also found some interesting links in the Dr. Alexander SLEDGE (1787-1861) family of Marengo County, AL. He married Winifred Bryan LANE, d/o Levin LANE, Jr. and Nancy BRYAN family of Jones County, NC. Alexander's aunt, Winifred SLEDGE of Bute County, NC married Larkin DAWSON and he was of Halifax County, NC the son of a Henry DAWSON and Mary LONG. On the will of Winifred's father, Daniel SLEDGE is not only Larkin DAWSON but an Isam SLEDGE. Once again, we run into the Isam name and there has to be a common link to this name, Isam or Isham, around this bunch, somewhere. A DAWSON also married into the family if Isam LANE of Greene County, NC and I do think that Isam and Levin were brothers because the name, Levin, also floats down my Lane-Daniel bunch, later. . 3. John, Thank you for your reply, you may be correct about the Walter, but I am not very familiar with this New Kent county Daniel line? Based on our research, Our Daniel families married into the Mayes, Greenlee and Lacy families. Ester Daniel was a sister to Edward Daniel born approx. 1750, She supposedly married Philemon Lacy in GreenBriar West VA. They did however migrate to McMinn county, TN. Where Ester and Philemon died. On our Edward Daniel born 1750, the only research we have on this fellow is based upon tax list in Henry county, VA. Also the RockingHam Baptists Holy Matrimony church records were Edward was a deacon in 1776, also Philemon and Ester Daniel Lacy was there. Edward is also on deeds, etc. but we have nothing on him on earlies years, these are all while he was in Henry county. There is mentiond of Edward and Widow Daniel, being the Widow of JOhn Daniel Sr. probably Sarah Witherspoon? If I remember correctly. Edward remained there in Henry county up until 1800 where he migrated to Grainger county, TN. Edward was also noted on deeds in Henry county, names like Perkins who desired to build a grist mill. Edward was also to oversee a bridge being built in Henry county, and was to keep it maintained for seven years. I could be wrong, but I am inclined to agree with Payne about our line being from the Prince George county, VA. Daniel line, Edward is a possible son of John Daniel Sr. There is also an Edward Daniel on the Prince George VA. tax list but I think he's related and Edward is a later generation. But the Basil Daniel line that is also connected to us based on the Daniel DNA site. Basil Daniel was on the Pendilton District, SC. census, then he goes to North Carolina, he was an exresident of Buncombe county in 1805. Eustace Daniel goes to Halifax, NC. I don't know if they are even related? But Basil Daniel leaves NC. and travels to Davidson county, TN. and from there he migrated to Illinois, Shelby county and from there he migrated to Arkansas. Basil died in 1840. wife unknown. Also some researchers say Edward and Anna Daniel were married in Edgefield county, SC. but records were destroyed we have know way of knowing. I don't know what to think, but Edwards children had names of Pricilla, Jemima, Sally, Elizabeth, etc. James, JOhn, William, Joesph, common names. also in Grainger there was a Francis Daniel, John and then Edward Daniel, This line is so hard to trace its unreal. 3. Eustace Daniel is listed in the records of Blissland Parish, VA; born December 4, 1734, baptized February 6, 1734-35, son of Edmund Daniel and wife Alice. This is obviously the same "Hustis/Eustis, son of Edmund" who appears later in Granville County, NC.
