    3. Vickie, I was incorrect. I do have what may be your line but it was not Henry County, VA but Pittsylvania County, VA, from which Henry County, VA was formed in 1776. What fooled me was the Henry County, VA return address you listed for this bunch. The Edward you have may well have come from the WADES of Halifax County, VA. Parts of this line end up in Greene County, GA and as I remember,. so does that Eustis DANIEL, is that not correct? The reason I carry this bunch is a lot of them end up in Morgan County, Ga and anyone that ends up in Morgan County, GA I am always interested in. There is an interesting link in the WADE family to a DANIEL. Mary ALLEN, wife of Capt. Allen DANIEL, Sr. of Madison County, GA, was the d/o Joseph ALLEN and Sarah HUNT of Charlotte County, VA. Sarah HUNT was the d/o of Ralph HUNT and Diana Charity ANDERSON of Hanover County, VA. Sarah was also the sister of Memecan HUNT who married Mary WADE of Brunswick County, VA, later Granville County, NC. Mary was the d/o Robert WADE, Sr. and Elizabeth HAMPTON of Halifax County, VA. and sister of Edward WADE who married Mary C. CLEMENTS who ended up in Greene County, GA. Ralph is also a big names in the BANKS which also end up in pretty much the same area in GA as this bunch. They say that Capt. Allen DANIEL was born in Augusta County, VA and I know there were lots of links between Augusta County and Hanover County, VA. Since Allen DANIEL migrated to the same general area as the WADES then your DNA may well be the same as his. We do not have any DNA from the Allen DANIEL clan. I also noticed two other names in your list - DALTON and LIGION, even though Ligion was used in your bunch a given name and not a surname. This also seems to point back into the Woodson-Daniel bunch from around Goochland, a location I have always thought Allen DANIEL's bunch probably came from, via of the ALLEN line that is tied to this bunch. What we need is DNA from one of those Watkins-Daniels lines out of Goochland as well as some from the Allen DANIEL line out of Madison County, GA to compare your DNA against. I would not be surprised in the least is you get a match with one or both of these. Did you not mention a CHANDLER in a previous post? Thomas BANKS (1709-1789) married an Elizabeth CHANDLER. Their son, Ralph BANKS, Sr. of Caroline County, VA married Rachel Alston JONES of Wake County, NC and they migrated to Elbert County, GA, from which Madison County, GA was formed. The CHANDLERS also ended up in Morgan County, GA, as well as some of these BANKS. Interesting. You also need to go to Pittsylvania County, VA and look at their court records, some of which are on line in the time frame you need. I saw some interesting matches in some of the names you listed. 3. Thank John, I will certainly look into it, a George Daniel does show up later in some records, but also some of the children of Nehemiah Daniel show up in Pittsylvania county, VA. Nehemiah Daniel , I think is related to our Daniel line in someway or another, This Henry county bunch of Daniels are elusive, no one can get past Basil of Edward Daniel. Perhaps someone would come forward on the Allen Daniel line and have their DNA tested to see if we connect. We can only hope, Vic "John R. Clarke" <jclarke@rose.net> wrote:Vickie, I was incorrect. 1. Re: [DANIEL-L] John Daniel and Hanna Grange Daniel, family letters according to John Greenlee
    2. John R. Clarke
    3. Vickie, I saw a lot of Augusta County, VA surnames in that 1767 Tax list. I saw a lot of later Greene and Wilkes County, GA area surnames, including, specifically, the Stephen HEARD, Jr. bunch that ended up in Elbert County, GA I also saw lots of CUNNINGHAMS, BENNETTS, PATTERSONS and others that also end up in that area of GA in a later time frame. Some of the stuff that was online for Pittsylvania County, VA brings up one of my pet peeves - well meaning researchers that alphabetize census, tax, burial or other civil records thinking their efforts are beneficial to other researchers. However, they are not, because most researchers are looking for a blend of names (or specific names) grouped together in these records and alphabetizing these records does not show them that relationship. So, if you ever transcribe any of these records, please put them online exactly as they are written or exactly as you audit the graves in a specific cemetery, trying to keep the graves of individual families together, if possible. Some of these records were alphabetized by the original maker and we cannot do anything about that but those that are not, transcribe them exactly as they are listed. Thanks..... John R.
