John, Agree with most of what you say in this post but will point out that most say this Spilsbe died unmarried (see Annie Nettle's post #3 of 2/4/04) so that leaves William DANIEL as marrying Spilsbe's sister and most seem to agree this was Elizabeth COLEMAN. I do subscribe to the theory that William and Elizabeth had issue Thomas and Charles that eventually end up in Greene Co., GA. What I wrestle with is how Edmund and Eustace (or Eustis, Eustus, Hustis) fit into this family; or do they at all? Edmund is becoming increasingly easy to pull out of the mix as I accumulate more data; however Eustace remains a strong candidate to be somehow related to Charles. I also think perhaps there was a James and that most probably he may have been the father of James that married Grizelle CLEMENTS. The CLEMENTS, BURFORD'S (Grizelle's Mom's folks, West's and DANIEL'S seemed to congregate early in Greene Co. Greene however was a popular place to be migrated to so perhaps its all coincidence.
