Payne, I have to jump in here. Are you now saying that you and Joe think my William Daniel was the father of Harrison, Tabitha, and Sallie Daniel, as well as my Benjamin Daniel? I thought the two of you and Virginia had Tabitha as the daughter of a William Daniel and Virginia Simmons? My William Daniel, the father of my ancestor Benjamin Daniel, was supposed to have been married to Mary Snead. Have you found something that suggests to you that Tabitha Daniel and Benjamin Daniel were half-brother and sister? You will recall that the documents that I found in the Madison, Indiana library, in addition to providing a lot of information on Benjamin's family and descendants, lists the birth (15 Jan 1756), marriage, and death of Tabitha, and the birth (also 15 Jan 1756) of Sallie Daniel. If they were sisters, and if this information is correct, then they had to be twins. Because they were included in the Madison, IN data I have also thought that there must be a connection, but if you have definite information or evidence I'd sure like to see it. Since Benjamin named his first child Coleman, I've always thought that there must have been some connection to the Coleman family. Now with ShuShuFlyPie mentioning a connection to the Brown family it brings up more questions. Benjamin Daniel married Margaret Brown, the daughter of Berryman Brown and Mary Noel. There were also many members of the Brown family (as well as Snead, Noel, and Graves) who were living in Mercer County, Kentucky near where Benjamin and Margaret Brown Daniel settled. These families all seem to have traveled together...and it appears inter-married.
