Good morning, I do not remember the rather cryptic comment you attributed to me but I do remember posting that Barbados information. It was from last spring or early last summer. Did you have any particular comment to make other than the possible link to the Barzilla DANIEL that was mentioned recently? This is why it is imperative for researchers to go back through the DANIEL archives from time to time and search for information on their families because we all miss important clues from time to time. John, I have been looking into your quest for the roots of Robert C. Daniel + Penelope Lane of Burke County, Georgia. I found the following tid-bits in the Notes of Hugh Buckner Johnston or a collection of miscellaneous notes on the Daniel family. >>From the Miscellaneous Notes of Hugh Buckner Johnston, Raleigh Reading Room. Vertical File.<< R. C. Daniel of Greene County, North Carolina, married Penelope and had: James Daniel, William Daniel, Chestly Daniel, Nancy Daniel married on February 13, 1834, Frederick W. Wyse, son of John Wyse and Nancy Wadsworth. He was born on September 5, 1798. [notice the name Chestly, could be Robert's middle name as well?] Sarah Elizabeth Daniel was born on February 25, 1807, in Greene County North Carolina. and died on May 22, 1872; on January 25 1827, she married Thomas Wise, fifth son of John Wyse and wife Nancy Wadsworth. He was born on October 12, 1799, and died on Fenruary 22, 1849. [notice a different father for Thomas and his brother Frederick who married Nancy Daniel] Also there was a Chesley Simeon Wise. No smokeing guns here but this does put R. C's. family in Greene County, NC. While without documentation, the notes of Mr. Johsnton usually prove correct. Chew away, Payne Michael Jordon said. "Loseing a game is the best way to appreciate winning". Go DUKE! Err., it might have been Magic Johnson?
