    3. Debbie, I have several CLOPTONS in my PAF (not family) and they tie into the REIDS, KENDRICKS, SAFFOLDS and their collaterals in Putnam County, GA area.. The REIDS and McKAYS came out of Northern Ireland in the early 1700's and first settled in Rowan County, NC. Andrew REID (1806-1865) of Eatonton, Putnam County, GA married Marianne CLOPTON on 20 Oct 1829 in Putnam County, GA. She was the d/o Alford CLOPTON and Sarah KENDRICK of Henrico County, Virginia, later, Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama. Sarah KENDRICK was the d/o Martin KENDRICK and Sarah WHITEHEAD of IOW, or that general area. Most of the KENDRICK information I have points to Washington County, GA and Martin KENDRICK died in 1804 in Washington County, GA. Do you remember the Hardy BRYAN of Thomasville I mentioned in the previous post? He was in business with my GGU,. Russell R. RENEAU (1832-1862), before the CW. In 1855, Russell, who owned the newspaper in Thomasville, married a CHASTAIN, d/o a CARLTON and g/d of David ALDERMAN. Anyway, Russell's daughter, also named Russell, married a W.H. "Harney" KENDRICK in the 1880's. Russell was killed at the Battle of South Mountain, MD on 14 Sep 1862. There is a circular connection in the REIDS back to the O'DANIELS. Robert Alexander REID, Jr. (1801-1864) married Nancy Ellen COOK, d/o John COOK, Jr. and Mary Ellen HAMPTON of Hayneville, Lowndes County, Alabama. John, Jr. was the son of John COOK, Sr. and Martha Ann PEARSON of Fairfield County, South Carolina. Their daughter, Martha Pearson COOK married (1st) Levi DANIELL of Hancock County, GA and (2nd) John Furman DANIEL, Esq. of Edgefield, SC -- both O'DANIEL descendants.. Don't think that Robert DANIELL and I have not tried to squeeze my DANIEL bunch into these O'DANIELS but we cannot find a place for them, even though we are many times occupying the same general area and dealing with the same set of folks. For some reason the O'DANIELS are missing the one given name I need, Robert DANIEL. Maybe it is there and we have just not found it, yet..... John R.
