Hi, I have often wondered if the READ was REDD, you know how easy it was for early researchers to convolute these names. I am showing REDDS later tied to names that have KELSO in them, which is a name that points back to the CUNNINGHAM-DANIEL bunch out of Augusta and PE County, VA and later, GA. These REDDS were close to a lot of folks I watch pretty closely in the Morgan County, GA area -- the Lancelot JOHNSTON family. Dr. Lancelot JOHNSTON, MD (ABT 1748-1832) migrated from Ireland to Caswell County, NC and his descendants to Madison, Morgan County, GA and elsewhere. He married a RICE girl, d/o Thomas RICE and Jane MILLS of Hanover County, VA. My bet is the George WILLIAMSON has to be out of the John WILLIAMSON and Susannah Perry LOWE family of Buckingham County, VA, somewhere. His father was George WILLIAMSON. If so, his brother, cousin, was Micagah WILLIAMSON (1744-1796) who moved from Buckingham County, VA to Washington, Wilkes County, GA. Their daughter, Nancy WILLIAMSON, married GA Governor John CLARKE and I look at this family, closely, for the obvious reason. <grin> . Not to mention the Mrs. Sarah Williamson Bird LAMAR of Oxford, Newton County, GA in whose home in 1850, my step-great-grandfather, Professor Winfield Montgomery RIVERS of James Island, SC, lived in 1850. Her mother was Susannah WILLIAMSON, Nancy's sister and also a child of Micagah WILLIAMSON and Sarah GILLIAM. . <<< Oct.
