    1. Horry County, SC deeds

    3. Good Afternoon: I just happened to stumble on these Horry County, SC deeds and they may shake up some folks who have said the male DANIELL family of Charleston died out by 1800, with the exception of the Bogart, Oconee County, GA branch....That is not quite true and these deeds prove it. We also know that Amelia DANIEL married Masters HANKINS in 1809 and she was the d/o Stephen Bedon DANIELL and Anne Goodlet HOWE. I also know the WATSONS were back up in NC, Bertie area, I think and the BRYANS were there, too, although I do not know who this William D. BRYAN was. The FRINKS, MASTERS and HANKINS were collateral in this area of SC. Dennis HANKINS, the father of Masters HANKINS who married Amelia DANIEL in 1809, married a POTTER girl from Brunswick County, NC, the d/o Miles POTTER and Hannah LEONARD. These POTTERS were from New Hanover County, NC, the children of Robert POTTER (1708-1757) and Mary W. I find it awful interesting to see these STANLANDS listed in many of these same deeds, too. The STANLEYS and THWEATTS were collateral back in NC and VA and this may be a part of this bunch. As for who was the John B. WATSON (1786-1865) listed in these conveyances, John Byrn WATSON was the son of John WATSON (1727, Prince George's County, Maryland -1815, Johnston County, NC) and Elizabeth LOWREY of Johnston County, NC. John WATSON was the son of James WATSON, Sr. and Anne PERRY of Prince George's County, MD, d/o Thomas PERRY and Mary WILLIAMS of Somerset County, MD. James WATSON Sr. and his wife, Anne, moved to Johnston County, NC ABT 1750 and lived very close to the BRIGGS family of that area. This BRIGGS family flows back to the FLOODS, who are also tied to the SMITHS, the LANES and the CREEDS. .The LOWREYS are also tied to the LANES. I do not know if the Robert DANIEL mentioned in these two WATSON deeds is the same as the Robert DANIEL, Jr. listed in the other deeds. <<<< Horry County, SC deeds HORRY COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA DEED BOOK C-1 CONVEYANCES 1811-1837, 184 37 Robt.
