    3. P, No, Horry County, SC is just north Georgetown, which is up the coast from Charleston, right on the NC border. Myrtle Beach is in Horry County, SC, pronounced Orry County, SC but the county seat is Conway, SC, as I remember. Horry County, SC is right next to Brunswick County, NC and lots of families from both of these counties, intermarried. In short, Horry was originally part of colonial Craven County, Horry County has also been part of Prince George Winyah (1722), Prince Frederick (1734), and All Saints (1767) parishes, which served as early religious and civic jurisdictions. This area, which became part of newly-formed Georgetown District in 1769, was given its present boundaries and named Kingston County in 1785. In 1801, it was renamed Horry District, and, in 1868, Horry County. Horry County, SC was named for Peter Horry, a Planter of French Huguenot descent, Peter Horry (O-ree) was born in SC ca. 1747. A lieutenant colonel in the Revolution and later brigadier general in the SC Militia, he represented Prince George Winyah and All Saints parishes in the SC House and Senate. In 1801, Kingston County was renamed Horry District for Peter Horry. He died in 1815 and is buried at Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbia, SC. Now, before someone argues with this definition as to the formation of Horry County, SC, as they usually do around here, let me state this definition is verbatim from description for this county from the Horry County, SC Historical Society website. <grin> As for Robert DANIEL and John CASON, I feel John CASON has to be out of that CASON bunch who were located around the CANNONS, MOORES, MOYES and Robert Lanier DANIEL in Pitt County, NC in 1790. Which one of John's girls married a DANIEL, I do not know and which DANIEL she married, I do not know. John R. 3. J. Thanks for the clarification on Horry County, SC. Either Myrtle Beach or Charleston is a good place to visit in the winter. It appears that John Cason is not the player I thought he might be. Interesting to find out just who Robert was? Cheers, Payne ----- Original Message ----- From: "John R. 3. RE: It appears that John Cason is not the player I thought he might be. Interesting to find out just who Robert was? Payne, There were two DANIEL groups located very close to each other on the 1790 Pitt County, NC census. They was a Joseph DANIEL and then a Thomas, Lanier and Robert DANIEL. They are located quite far from each other. The last three were right together and we know who they were The, there were also two DANNEL families and they were not located that far from one another on the 1790 Pitt County, NC census or from the DANIEL families already mentioned. There was a George and a Robert DANNELS. Since their name was not spelled the same, I think they were separate and distinct families. However, since I am looking at a abstract and often different census pages were written by different folks, they may be part of the same DANIEL family and one census taker wrote their name as DANIEL and another wrote it as DANNELS. Regardless, some known T&E families seem to be around all of them. I do not know on this one but maybe someone will see something I am not. The Robert that has interested me in the past is the Robert DANNELS. Their census records are listed below.
