    3. Robert, I assume you have looked at the DANIEL family over in Stafford County, VA. We both know that Stafford was the home stomping grounds for the O'DANIELS before they moved to Fairfax County, VA. I read your post several weeks ago but waited until after I had time to look up some information on a DANIEL family tied to a WRIGHT family in that area of VA and "bingo," the John Moncure DANIEL (1769-1813) family popped up. Guess who his father, a Peter DANIEL, supposedly out of the Middlesex DANIEL line, was married to -- a Sarah Travers PIERSON. I am sure this PIERSON name does ring some bells for you, doesn't it? What is even more interesting is --- one of Peter and Sarah's daughters, Hannah Ball DANIEL, married a Gibson FOOTE according to the information I saw on this family. I am sure you also know that Julia Ann DANIELL of Fairfax County, VA, d/o Stephen DANIELL and Anne Bolling RADCLIFF of your O'DANIEL family, married an Alexander FOOTE in ABT the same time frame. We also know about a later BALL connection down in GA, don't we? We also know the name, Peter, is a name that floats around some of the families tied very closely to your O'DANIEL bunch (the WISE family). All of is very, very interesting, isn't it? Especially, since we now think the Middlesex DANIEL bunch was proably from Ireland and we know where the O'DANIELS were from, don't we? -- IRELAND. John R. Sarah WRIGHT, Fairfax, VA Good morning, John. Trust your Christmas was as Merry as you wanted it to be. All is quiet on the List for the holidays. A time to catch up on some of the little things? There is a record of marriage in Fairfax, VA for James DANIEL & Sarah WRIGHT, which is dated 31 Dec 1789. My searches yield no further information about this couple. The place and date lend circumstantial possibility that the James DANIEL might be James O'DANIEL, son of John O'DANIEL II, and grandson of John O'DANIEL, who mentions his grandson James O'DANIEL in his will of 1798. Does this marriage ring any bells for you? I filed the Charleston deed you sent in my PEARSON collection. The Thomas Pearson who witnessed the deed is contemporary to John P. PEARSON, father of Martha Ann Pearson COOK who married Levi DANIEL. Robert

    3. John, the O'Daniels from Orange County, NC were of Irish descent, but, do we have anything to suggest that the O'Daniels of Stafford County were of Irish descent??? I am familiar with the Middlesex family all the way back to 1650 in America and have never seen any mention that they were Irish, or probably Irish? Please enlighten me on that revelation. Anyone out there wish to expound on the Daniels family that was of Irish descent and all ways had the "s" in the name. That would be the family of Josephus Daniels of Raleigh and the "Raleigh News and Observer". I believe that Clifton Daniels was the progenitor of this bunch. Ya'll stay warm.
