I am aware through recorded deeds of many of his holdings in Ga. including an 810 acre "gift" from Joseph WILLIAMS to "my friend" Thomas DANIELL in Franklin Cty., GA. in 1791. This was not a poor itinerant preacher and if his daughter Mary was indeed married to Jonas Fauche the family's social and political status weren't lacking in any respects I can immediately see. Mike, Well, I see we are back to Joseph WILLIAMS aren't we? Old Jo was not "po folks" and any link between Thomas DANIEL of Greene County, GA to Old Joe puts Thomas DANIEL in a completely different DANIEL family in my opinion. We know the Kelso-Daniel bunch migrated from PE to Greene County, GA and the adjacent county to PE was Granville County, NC, were Joseph WILLIAMS was from. We also know this Kelso-Daniel bunch is all over the COFFEES, as are the CUNNINGHAMS, and as was Thomas DANIEL of Greene County, GA. Also, how does one reconcile the KY property you list for this Thomas when he was supposedly from Halifax County, NC? It does not match. Something else is going on, here, and I have often considered the possibility that Thomas DANIEL of Greene County, GA was a Middlesex DANIEL but he could be out of that Kelso-Daniel bunch from VA. I do not know but my guess is -- he was a VA DANIEL. Like the old saying for adopted kids, "you feed 'em long enough and they start to look like you."
