Diane, We have seen all of this before. Queries in genealogical magazines, regardless of when they were written, are just another piece of information. All too many times that query was also built on information that is either misleading, at best, or patently incorrect. If the person actually knew -- they would not be asking, would they? They would also provide the necessary sources for the assignments they list in their query, wouldn't they? That, is what we need because, as my mother once said, the proof is in the pudding. The problem that I see with Thomas DANIEL and Sarah BURNEY is they do not have the financial resources to meet the profiles of their grandchildren -- those boys were high steppers. They also could not have gotten it all from Charles because he died much too young to accumulate much wealth and property. Sure, they could have gotten it from the COFFEES but usually grandfathers do not leave money to their grandchildren but to their daughters and sons. I do not know what the answer is on this bunch but I need to see a lot more money and property in this family than what I am seeing now, in order to sustain the subsequent life styles and professions of both WCD and SCD. These boys were high rollers and money begets money, so where did it come from? John R.
