    3. Here is some information I received about a year ago from Julie Brown. It is basically directed to the Rogers line, but touches on the Daniel line on several marriages. You are welcome to look it over if you wish. ********************************************************************************************************** 1 Thomas Rogers was born between 1790 and 1800 (d. 1840-1850) in Tennessee/North Carolina. He resided in Tennessee (1815), Indiana (1823), and Illinois (1823). He married Susannah "Sookie" Jennings (b. 1796 in North Carolina, d. aft. 1865) and they had the following children: 2 Andrew Jackson Rogers 3 Martha "Patsy" Rogers 4 William Daniel Rogers 5 Fannie B. Rogers 6 Millie Rogers 7 James F. Rogers 8 Josiah/Isiah Rogers 9 Thomas Rogers 2 Andrew Jackson Rogers was born January 22, 1815 in Tennessee (or possibly Beardstown Illinois). His nickname was "Jack". He was a blacksmith, a farmer, and a preacher (possibly associated with the Disciples of Christ or the Christian Church). He served in the Kansas Calvary and reenlisted in Arkansas for a second tour. Andrew was first in Tennessee, then Shelby County Illinois (1820-1830), then Laclede County, Mo. (1853-1859) and then to Woodson County, KS (abt. 1873). In Woodson County, they joined other DANIELS families who had migrated from Decatur (Macon Co.) Illinois in a five wagon Train migration in 1856. He died in 1896 in Viola, Missouri. He married Nancy Sherrill (b. abt. 1819 in Illinois, d. 1848-1850 probably in Schuyler Co., Ill.) on September 5, 1833 in Shelby County, Illinois. Her parents were Alexander Sherrill (Alexander's lineage can be traced back to the 1600's) and Elizabeth "Betsey" Ridings Payne of Shelby County, Illinois. Nancy apparently died in Ill! inois prior to Andrew going to Missouri and Kansas (she is in the 1840 census of Schuyler Co., Illinois). Andrew and Nancy had the following children: 10 Francis Marion Rogers 11 Martha Jane Rogers 12 James M. Rogers 13 George W. Rogers 14 William A. Rogers 15 Mary Rogers 16 Nancy Elandor Rogers 17 Louisa Rogers Andrew married Elizabeth Daniel (b. 04-17-1831 Shelby Co., IL d. 02-12-1906 in Belmont, Pottowatomie County, OK) on August 6, 1850 in Shelby County, Illinois. Her parents were Jonah (or Jonas) Daniel (b. 1804 NC) and Mary "Polly" Rice (b. 1808). (Note: After Mary "Polly" Rice died, Jonah married a sister to Andrew Jackson Rogers -that would have been Martha?- which made Andrew's father-in-law also his brother-in-law.) Rogers 3 Martha "Patsy" Rogers was born in 1815 in Shelbyville, Illinois (could possibly be 1817 in TN-this fits better with Ray's info.) (d. unk). She married William Daniel (b. 1808 in TN, d. 1870) on 6-29-1837 in Shelby County, Illinois. Martha and William had the following children: 28 Asbury Daniel 29 Ellen Daniel 30 Isiah Daniel 31 Jackson "Jack" Daniel 32 James Daniel 33 Jane Daniel 34 Reuben Daniel 4 William Daniel Rogers (b. 1822 in TN; d. unk) and married Nancy Jane McNear (b. abt. 1825 in KY or Ill., d. unk) on March 6, 1845 in Shelby County, TN. William and Nancy lived in Woodson County (next door to Andrew Rogers) in 1870. William and Nancy had the following children: 35 Thomas A. Rogers 36 Mary/Susannah Rogers 37 Andrew J. Rogers 38 Martha Rogers 39 Pamphilia Rogers 40 Isiah Rogers 41 Malessa G. Rogers 5 Fannie B. Rogers (b. 1823 d. unk in Missouri) married several individuals of which there is limited information. Her first husband was Washington Fanning (b. unk, d. unk) and she married him on 7-15-1840 in Shelby Co., Illinois. Fannie and Washington had the following children: 42 Milla Fanning 43 Zachary Fanning Fannie's second husband was Lewis Phillips (b. unk, d. unk) of whom she married on 11-12-1850 in Shelby Co., Illinois, and her third husband was Jonas Daniels. 6 Millie Rogers (b.1825/1827, d. unk in Illinois ) married Cyrus (or Josiah) Daniels (b. unk, d. unk). Millie and Cyrus/Josiah had the following son: 44 Male Daniels She reportedly married again but there is no information on the second husband. 7 James F. Rogers was born in 1826 in Tennessee (d. unk) and married Ann E. Banning (b. 1827, d. unk) on March 16, 1848 in Shelby Co., Illinois. Ann's parents were Jeremiah Banning and Elizabeth Ann Brooks. James raised his family in Kansas and he had the following children with Ann: 45 Arthur Rogers James may have married a second time (reports show his father, A.J. Rogers preformed the ceremony)to Aley Daniell in MO on 3-22-1857 (Aley was Julia Daniel Roger's sister). 8 Josiah/Isaiah Rogers was born in 1828 in Shelby County, Illinois (d. unk) and married Polly Ann Johnson (b. 1835, d. unk) on May 20, 1850. He is also listed in some information as Isaiah. Josiah and Polly Ann had the following children: 46 Andrew J. Rogers 47 Margaret Rogers 48 William L. Rogers 49 Martha A. Rogers 9 Thomas Rogers was born in 1835 in Illinois (d. unk). 10 Francis "Frank" Marion Rogers was born 06-22- 1836 in Illinois and married Mary Ann Wilson (b. 1842 in Mississippi, d. unk, her parents were Josiah Wilson and Lucinda Hargis) in 1866 in the Claiborn Parish in N. Louisiana. Francis fought for the Confederacy in the 8th Missouri Infantry. Francis and Mary Ann moved to and lived in Montgomery Co., AR, from 1866 until they returned to Claiborn in 1879. They are buried at Hebron Cemetery in Summerville, Claiborn Parish, LA. They had the following children: 50 Lucinda Ammer Rogers 51 Nancy Elizabeth Rogers 52 William Josephus Rogers 53 Louiza Jane "Dooley" Rogers 54 Mary Kathryn "Mollie" Rogers 55 Louella Frances Rogers 56 Lilla Isabel Rogers 11 Martha Jane Rogers (b. 1836 (twin to Francis Marion Rogers?) d. aft. 1880) married Henry Thomas (b. unk, d. unk) who was a resident of the Chickasaw Nation of the Indian Territory. Martha and Henry had the following children: 57 Jackson Thomas 58 William A. Thomas 12 James M. Rogers (b. 1837, d. 1861) fought in the 1st Kansas Volunteer Infantry (Union) as a sergeant and was killed on August 10, 1861 at Wilson Creek (12 miles south of Springfield, Missouri.) The battle was called "Bloody Hill" because of the number of lives lost. James joined the Infantry with his brother, George, in May of 1861 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. 13 George W. Rogers was born on 10-13-1839 in Shelby County, Illinois (d. 3-31-1922 in Belmont-Toronto, KS-buried in Big Sandy Cemetery, Woodson County). He was a farmer and a minister in KS in 1883 (he married several couples in Woodson County just as his father did). He married Julia Ann Daniels (b. 03-04-1844 in Illinois, d. 06-02-1916, Woodson County, KS- buried in Big Sandy Cemetery, Woodson County, KS) on May 31, 1866 in Wilson County, KS (familysearch.org lists her as Juliann Dannels). Julia was a housewife. Her parents were Reuben Daniels (b. Shelby Co., Illinois) and Mary Anna McGuire (b. Tennessee) of Shelby County, Illinois. George fought in the 5th Kansas Calvary (Union) with his younger brother, William A. and faced his brother, Francis, at least once in battle at Jenkins Ferry, Arkansas. George died of "Endo-Earditis & Gastnitis (?-it's hard to read the death certificate) in his daughter, Maggie's house. Julia Ann and George W. had the following children: 59 Charles Rogers 60 Noah Rogers 61 Magdaline "Maggie" Rogers 62 Warren Rogers 63 Millard Rogers 14 William A. Rogers (b. 1841 d. unk) reportedly lived in Chico, Texas (Wise County). Ref: History of Woodson and Allen Counties. In his first marriage, he had two children: 64 Ellen Rogers 65 Lena Rogers William reportedly married again but her name is unknown nor is there information about children. 15 Mary Rogers (b. 1843 Illinois, d. unk) married William Daniels (b. 1830 Illinois, d. after 1880). William later lived in the Chickasaw Nation area. Mary and William had the following children: 66 Julia Malissia Daniels 67 Andrew Jackson Daniels 68 Henry Daniels 69 Florrance Daniels 16 Nancy Elandar Rogers (b. 1844/1846 Illinois, d. unk- buried in Big Sandy Cemetery in Woodson County, KS) married Jacob Painter (b. unk, d. unk) and lived in Wilson County, KS. Nancy later married Mr. Penturff (b. unk, d. unk). 17 Louisa Rogers (b. 1848?, d. unk) was also known as "Lude" (possibly pronounced "Ludie") and married James O. "Jim" Thomas (b. 1837 TN, d. unk).
