    3. Good Morning, Aaron Daniel BULLOCH - that is not an unusual name for one of the BULLOCH kids since Dianah STAFFORD, d/o Thomas Peter STAFFORD, married a James BULLOCH, second and Silvanus BIRD, first. She died in Bulloch County, GA in 1809. Dianah was the sister of Ann STAFFORD who married Capt. Israel Roberson BIRD of Bryan County, GA and Mary who married an Elijah SADLIFT (sic). Thomas Peter STAFFORD, their father, was the brother of Mary STAFFORD who married John MAY and their daughter, Elizabeth MAY, married Josiah DANIEL, Capt. Aaron's brother. The BIRDS were from Berks County, PA. Israel's grand daughter, Anne Elizabeth BIRD (1807-1869), married Capt. Enoch DANIEL (1799-1863) of Taylor's Creek, Liberty County, GA. His son, Dr. Thomas Staley DANIEL, DDS (1850-1896) married Annie Cecile DONOVAN (1859-1905), the daughter of Nancy Collins DANIEL and Tim DONOVAN of Bethany, Jefferson County, GA. Enoch was the son of Abraham DANIEL and Jane MOORE of Liberty Co., GA and Abraham is described as a son of Capt. Aaron DANIEL. Nancy Collins DANIEL (1837-1890) was the d/o James L. DANIEL (1814-1857) and his first wife, Mary MURPHEY (ABT 1815-BEF 1840) whom he married in 1834 in Richmond County, GA. She was the d/o Rev. Nicholas MURPHEY of the GA Conference and his wife, Nancy COLLINS of Hephzibah, Richmond County, GA. James L. DANIEL, Nancy Collins DANIEL, Tim DONOVAN (1832-1895), Dr. DANIEL and his and Annie's kids are buried in the Bethany East Cemetery, Wadley, Jefferson County, GA in the Tim DONOVAN Family plot. His brother, William DONOVAN and their parents and children are buried in a lot right next to them in the same cemetery. Nicky MURPHEY and Lovick PIERCE were good friends and all of this bunch was Methodist, even the DONOVANS, who became Methodist after their oldest daughter, Ellen DONOVAN, was molested by their parish priest. So, some things don't change, do they. <grin> The James L. DANIEL, listed previously, was a younger brother of my GGF, R. W. DANIEL of the same city - Bethany, GA. He married Mary Jane RENEAU, d/o Rev. Russell RENEAU, a PE in the GA Conference. The family story is -- these two DANIEL families were not related and it comes from reliable sources -- Smith Calloway BANKS, Historian of Bulloch County, GA, who married Dr. Thomas S. DANIEL's grand daughter. The DONOVANS, who had migrated from County Cloin, Ireland to the US in the 1820's and Jefferson County, GA ABT 1850, were heavily involved in the GA Railroad before the CW -- they cut all of the cross ties, provided wood for bridges, etc. for this railroad before the CW and after. The DONOVANS were the richest family in that end of Jefferson County, GA, along with the TARVERS, who were also collateral with my DANIEL bunch. The DONOVANS even changed the name of Bethany, GA to Wadley, GA in honor of the President of the GA Railroad. Since they were collateral with the DANIELS, I am sure my DANIEL bunch had similar attachments to the GA Railroad, too. FYI, The STAFFORDS, MAYS and DANIELS migrated from the Pitt County, NC area to Beaufort District, SC, shortly after the end of the Revolutionary War and cleaned up on the land that had been confiscated from the Tories of the area. A lot of these land transactions were not at the "highest bid" or "at arm's length," either. <grin> John R.
