    3. Morning all. Annie since your shared your fine research with the list I thought I might respond to all so that any inconsistencies in the references you bring up may be looked at. Specifically Judge Hayden's work. I am sure that he leaves out an entire generation in his charts. I appreciate your effort to help us better understand these issues. The Visitation as quoted below has errors in both paragraphs and as I suggested before they, the Visitations, are not well received by English Daniell Researchers. > This paper signed 08 APL 1665, also shows, [Visitation of 1664] that William DANIEL of Wigan was the son of Peter DANIEL, a Captaine of foote in the Army of his late Majestie King Charles the first anno 1643 ~ his siblings were {2} Henry; {3} Richard; {4} Robert; {5} Thomas; {6} John; No {7} and {8} Thomas DANIELL, a Lieutenant in the late Kings Army, slayne at Bruinsford anno 1662 who married Alice SMITH and left son Peter DANIEL, living in 1666. These were children of Peter DANIELL, of Tabley Co. Cest. and his spouse Sarah WILCOCKS, daughter of Richard, Esq.> ...The above children were the children of Peter Daniell II and Christian Grosvenor, and Sarah Wilcocks was the wife of Peter Daniell III ~ This would be the Peter Daniell who was a Captaine of Foote in the Army of his late Majestic King, Charles the first Anno. 1643. Peter Daniel with wife?_________ have been reported to be the parents of William Daniel of Wigan and 7 siblings listed in "The Chetham Society Publication, Volume 97" but this Peter would more likely be one of the siblings. This would be due to age, he and Col. William are only about 10 years apart. Peter was killed on King Charles side l' 1643. `````````````````````````````````````````````````` > Visitations of Lancashire,1623 ~ Crest: an UNICORN'S HEAD, etc. Thomas DANIEL of Om., Tabley in Com. Pal. Cestriae, 13 Edw IV (1747) married Blanch, daughter of Piers WARBURTON and they had Piers DANIEL who married Juliana NEWTON. And they had: {1} Thomas DANIEL who married Alice FFOULK, of Chester. and had Peter, b: 1561 of Tabley Co. Cest. Esq. who married Anne MAINWARING. {2} William DANIEL who married first a daughter of Christopher SECONDARY of the court; and married secondly his MAID, then one of these ladies had William DANIEL, JR. [and whom I'm guessing was probably born well before 1600.] < ...{1}Thomas Daniel the son of Piers Daniell and Julian Newton married Margaret Wilbraham, and I am not aware of an Alice FFOULK being in the mix. Thomas Daniell of Over Tabley (Peter Daniell , Thomas Daniell , Thomas Daniell , Thomas Daniell , Thomas Daniell , Thomas Daniell , Thomas Daniell , Thomas Danyers Senior , William Danyers Senior , Thomas Danyers , Robert ) was born on 3 Jun 1503. He died on 2 Jun 1551. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` > NOTE: [pg 294] James DANIEL was ordered by the vestry of Middlesex Parish to procession the land 1724 and 1726. He was therefore a member of the vestry. In 1747, James DANIEL succeeded William DANIEL in the vestry. In 1751 he again processioned the land. [Is this the same William DANIEL who was a member of the vestry back in JUN 1684? Whoa!]< ...This James Daniel is the son of James Daniel and Margaret Vivion and the William you suggest was already dead in 1751. James married Mary Killingham and they had a son William but he was too young to be the other William. > 5.+ William, b: 1710/14 (?) ~ m. Elizabeth WATKINS Woodson < ...It is my belief that this William was the son of John Daniell Jr., and UNK. This will raise the hackles of one or two folks but this is my assignment based on Cumberland County Records. This by the way is the only significant child listed as the issue of James and Margaret Vivion Daniel that has NO baptismal date shown, why, he wasn't in the Register. > 7. John, b: 19 JAN 1721 ~ b: 18 FEB 1721 ~ m. (?) ...... Elizabeth MORTON ...I think that John married Susannah Roane because Elizabeth Morton married John Minor Daniel in 1772. A lot of this stuff is open to debate so it doesn't hurt to visit these families every now and then. May I further suggest that you go to my web page and click on "Sites to Vist" and go to the Daniel/Daniell/Danyl link. http://www.troy.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ Also there is a link to the Daniells of Mass which is a very fine look at those folks. http://paynedaniel.com/ Further, there is absolutely no proof to the claim that William Daniel of Middlesex Co., Va., was a member of the De Tabley/Lancashire/Cheshire Daniells. FTM incorrectly makes such an assumption. I could go on! Wordy today, aren't I? As usual correct me where I err, but bring your facts.
