Mike, I did find this. Charles JAMES was married to a Nancy and they lived in Warren County, NC. The only child I can find for them was a Susannah "Suki" JAMES who married a William BOBBITT. The parents of William BOBBITT were John Richard BOBBITT of Edgecombe County, NC and Amy ALSTON and she was a d/o Joseph John ALSTON and Elizabeth CHANCY and they lived in Halifax County, NC. Joseph John was the son of John ALSTON, Sr. and Mary CALRK of Chowan District, NC and before that John, Jr. was from Pavenham, Bedford, ENGLAND. The line I watch out of this John ALSTON family is his son Solomon who married Sarah Ann Nancy HINTON, d/o Col. John HINTON and Mary HARDY of Chowan County, North Carolina. Solomon and Joseph John ALSTON were brothers. This is really a lot of Isle of Wight County, VA folks, which includes the DANIELS, LANIERS and I assume the COLEMANS, at least who were probably the ancestors of Daniel COLEMAN but that is just a guess on my part. However, they could be later arrivals but when you seeing a succeeding generation of friends, as is the case with the BOBBITT and JAMES marriage, marrying back into these known families, my usual guess, unless there is evidence to the contrary, is always, they were part of the same overall bunch. As I remember, you also found Thomas DANIEL floating in this little Baptist group in Halifax County, NC. I thought for a long time this Thomas was Thomas, Jr., son of T&E but when the BURNEY information went south, I kind of dropped off of this assignment. Maybe there is something to some of that but he could still be a DANIEL out of an IOW family and not one from a Chowan Family, like T&E. John R.
