Mike, Take a look at this. That is my Robert and Penelope Lane DANIEL sitting on this 1805 Wayne County, NC deed. Robert may not have been out of John and Sarah's line of Northampton but he was from a DANIEL line somewhere close to this bunch. I will tell you this, they have the children of Islam LANE, Sr. all cobbled up. The best information says they were (not necessarily in order): i. Penelope LANE born 1773 in either Dobbs or Edgecombe County, NC married Robert DANIEL ABT 1792. ii. Bethany LANE married Isaac PARKER iii. Cullen LANE married Zilphia HOOKER iv. Isham LANE, Jr. -- do not know who he married but he was an adult in 1793, married and living in Greene County, NC v. Bryant LANE married Rebecca THOMPSON, d/o Zadock mentioned on this deed. vi. Sarah "Sally" married a WILLIAMS The John and maybe the Matthew LANE listed in this deed were sons of one of Bryant LANE, we think. This deed is actually a mixture of Isham, Sr. children and grand children. Frank THOMPSON who has been researching this family for years is my source for much of this information on these LANES. We know that a William DANIEL was living with Isham LANE, Jr. in 1793 in Greene County, NC. We think the LANE children of Capt. Isham LANE, Sr. were born in the 1755-1775 time frame, all probably in Dobbs or Edgecombe County, NC. Frank says they moved into what became Greene County, NC in concert with the YELVERTONS, as best he can tell. Isham Land had an unredeemed Rev. War Voucher, Continental Line, Craven Co. NC. Isham Lane is found in the Dobbs County, North Carolina Tax List of 1769. He had 745 acres of land In 1761 Isham LANE was appointed Capt. in the Dobbs County, NC militia. We know that Isham LANE, Sr. was a son of Lt. Thomas LANE (ABT 1715-1769) who I think was a son of Joseph LANE, Sr. and Julian JARRALL of Edgecombe County, NC. <<< Wayne Co.
