Good Morning: I knew Etheldred SMITH (ABT 1750-1843) and Noah SMITH (ABT 1775-AFT 1843) of Green County, NC were related. I also knew they followed Robert C. DANIEL (ABT 1765-AFT 1830) to Burke County, GA and then to Jefferson County, GA. The Jordan SMITH listed in this will was Rev. Jordan SMITH (ABT 1777-1835) who married Mary GAINER, d/o William GAINER and Martha WILLIAMS. The GAINERS and WILLIAMS were originally of Petersburg, Surry County, VA and later moved to Davisboro, Washington County, GA. I feel pretty sure there was also a MARSHALL family that was a part of an overall SMITH, GAINER, WILLIAMS and RAIFORD connection because they were all over each other in Jefferson County, GA, besides those names mentioned in the following will. The HUDSON connection in this will of Etheldred SMITH looks very much like the HUDSON boy was a descendant of Robert HUDSON (ABT 1750-ABT 1790) and Rhoda DANIEL (ABT 1755-1792) of Pitt County, NC, later Effingham County, GA because this bunch ties right into the WILLIAMS family, too. I am also pretty sure the ALLENS listed in this will were descendants of Robert ALLEN bunch out of Hanover County, VA, some of which later moved to Richmond County, GA. I also think the R. W. JOHNSON listed was probably R. W. JOHNSTON because folks always seemed to leave out the T in this name.
