Mike, Now, we are getting somewhere. I felt there was more in this little group of DANIELS in Edgecombe than the regular IOW clan. Give me what you think are Charles and Thomas' ancestors, if you can. I am looking for connections to BRYANT and UZZELL. Those same UZZELL links are down in Greene County, NC and they are all around my DANIEL-LANE bunch. One think we know is the ANDERSON-BANKS bunch that came to Richmond, Burke and Jefferson County, GA were in the iron smelting business back in PA -- Reading area, during the RW. They are collateral with my DANIEL and their collaterals. We also know from history the iron smelting area of VA was Spotsylvania County, VA area -- later where the Battle of the Wilderness was fought, that area from Mine Run to Fredericksburg. We also know a lot of Spotsylvania County folks moved to Orange County, VA and an Isham LANE, Jr. was born 1757 in Orange County, VA. He later went to KY, they say but we know there was an Isham LANE,.Jr. in Greene County, NC in 1793 so I wonder if he moved south and then went to KY. If so, this could indicate some of the LANE and DANIELS in that are were from Orange or Spotsylvania County, VA. Also remember, that Mary Lou HUNTER (1848-1917) of Greensboro, Greene County, GA, who married my grand uncle, Charles W. RICHTER, Jr. (1837-1907) of Madison, GA in 1866, was a descendant of Thomas DANIEL of Greene County, GA, which could well indicate his brother, John, who also married a DANIEL, also married a descendant of this same DANIEL family........
