    3. Payne, Number one. Owen is never found as a given name in the families of Thomas DANIEL or Simon DANIEL, Owen's supposed sons, yet their names, Simon and Thomas, flow like water in their families. Number two. It is rare if not improbable to find a family, as documented as these two DANIEL families are, that does not have the name of their primary ancestor, in this case, Owen, included in their family, somewhere. Yet, we never see it again in the first of second generations of these families. Number three. I cannot think of a family in which the name of the primary ancestor does not flow down through the family like water, especially in that time frame. It sure does it in every family I am familiar with. Its use may skip a generation, here an there, but it usually repeats, later. That, contrary to any information you may have, indicates to me there is a high probability that Owen DANIEL not the father of Thomas and Simon, unless his name was held in such ill repute in the family they never wanted to see it mentioned again. I also cannot accept that Simon DANIEL born 1678 did not know the name of his father who died when he was 22 or even Thomas who was 14 when Owen died in 1700. None of this makes sense and flies in the face of both traditions of the time and common sense. As for the mention of Owen O'DANIEL, I have no other information on him than what I listed in the previous post. John R.
