We have never been able to figure out where the name, Owen DANIEL, supposedly the father of Thomas DANIEL and Simon DANIEL, came from. I never worried about Owens's name and a Owen O'Daniel from Duplin being the name sake. Historically, Owen Daniel of Chowan Precinct, is Owen Daniel. He is mentioned at the end of the Will of Ann Daniel in the following statement: ("I find of record in the Virginia Land Registry, Book No. 8, page 428, a grant of130 acres in the Counties of Isle of Wight and "Nanzimond," Va., to Owen Daniell in 1695" So John, how does the Owen O'Daniel of Duplin have anything historically to do with Owen Daniel of Chowan Precinct of Albemarle County, North Carolina?
