Can someone tell me how this Daniel family connects through the Farmer family? Who was this Thomas Daniel's father? I find a William Daniel with wife Massie? Who had a daughter Jane Farmer living with them in Shenadoah county, VA. on the census. Notes from the Estate Papers of William D. FARMER (died c. 1834): 1853: Nov Ct.: Petition of Elizabeth Amason (sic), Beedy White, Isaac D. Farmer, Wm. D. Farmer, John R. Farmer, Wm. B. Farmer, Dew Farmer, Arthur Farmer, Silas Hollowell in right of wife, Sally, Jonathon Farmer, Joseph Farmer, Martin Pittman in right of his wife Anha, Henry Farmer, Martha Dobbs, Stokely A. Robinson by right of his wife, Elisabeth, John D. Farmer, Thomas Daniel, in right of his wife, Sally, Elizabeth Amason Jr., Beedy Deans, Dempsey Barnes, Nancy Calhoun, William F. Dew, Johnathon Dew, Albert Farmer in right of his wife Nancy, Jethro Harrison, Christiana Harrison vs. Larry D. Farmer Notes from petition: Wm. D. Farmer died in 1834 intestate. Frederick Robbins was assigned as executor of his estate. Frederick Robbins died before administration of William D. Farmer's estate was complete. Administration of William D. Farmer's estate was then assigned in Nov 1852 to Larry D. Farmer. Wm. D. Farmer left as next of kin, his mother, Elizabeth Farmer, who has since died leaving a last will and testament nominating Larry D. Farmer executor and will was proven Nov 1852 by same. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates.
Vicki, I am making an educated guess, but many of the folks mentioned in your message are probably colatteral relations to my Dew, Thomas and Barnes ancestors from Edgecombe County, North Carolina. The book, The Descendats of Thomas Dew, by Ernestine White May answer manyy of your questions. On page 182, it says: Elizabeth Farmer, daughter of Arthur Dew Sr., was married to Benjamin Farmer, who was a Revolutionary War soldier and is honored by a granite marker in Wilson, North Carolina. He made his will March 16, 1825, and it was probated in February Court, 1827 1. Elizabeth Farmer, wife 2. William Farmer, son 3. Braswell Farmer, son 4. Absalom Farmer, son 5. Dew Farmer, son 6. Jacob Farmer, son 7. Arthur Dew Farmer, son 8. William Dew Farmer, son 9. Sarah Hollowell, daughter 10. Odedience White, daughter 11. Nancy Dew, daughter (She married Jonathan Dew.) 12. Elizabeth Amason, daughter 13. A daughter who married John Barnes, deceased. This list covers many of the names in the Thomas Daniel estate. Perhaps Sally Farmer was a sister of Benjamin Farmer. This book is available on CD from abebooks.com, but unless you have a great interest in the Dews, there are only a couple of pages on the Farmers, and there is no Thomas Daniel in the index, but it looks as if the above family were mentioned in the estate. Thank you so much for this information, one thing that caught my eye was Brazwell Daniel, A fellow researcher that has worked on the Daniel line thinks that this line may connect to the Frederick county, VA. Daniel's through the Brazwell, Brauzell also spelled many other different ways. It seems this family of Brazwell was always around the Daniels in Frederick? Early Frederick and surrounding counties. Can a Daniel family line be constructed for the folks in Frederick Co., Va., or are we dealing with a loose nit set of collaterals?
