There are many William's. The first Daniel immigrant (Roger) came to American ca. 1626 from England. He settled in N.C. but later moved to Va. (Isle of Wight). From there the migration started. Some stayed in Va. some went to N.C. and some to Tenn. As land opened up the family followed. You could be correct about your William. My gggrandfather is Ezekiel (b. 1788) who also came to Wilkes co. He served in the war of 1812 and drew land in the first lottery and that land was in Wilkes co. Be careful connecting as there were many family members in S.C. and Ga. At that time. Let me know if you find any jury records, tax records or misc. The colonial period is a tough time to verify linage unless you can find a will or probate listing children. Good Luck > > John R. Roger Daniell with two "lls" came from England but he settled in Warwick County, Va., not Isle of Wight, unless you have another Roger in mind? Roger Daniell had a son William born in 1632 who married a Sarah. I am not aware of a NC Roger Daniel early on so perhaps you can clarify this for me with some dates. I do believe that Roger Daniell may have spent some time in York in 1745 before he moved down the road to Isle of Wight. Always eager to learn something new.
