Just for the scandal (and how can I get me one of these certificates?): Mecklenburg VA DB8-137 certificate - William Daniel to Sarah Jones I William Daniel of Saint James Parish and County of Mecklenburg having at Sundry times spoken words greatly tending to destroy the good Name and Reputation of Sarah Jones the Wife of Tingnal Jones Senior of the said parish and County aforesaid. I do therefore acknowledge that the words so spoken by me are false groundless and without foundation. I do further acknowledge that I have not at any time seen any indecent Act by the said Sarah Jones - and that the said Sarah Jones has from time to time and at all times Supported a fair and upright Character.
