Roselyn, I've just started working on my Daniel line. I descend from Martin Daniel Jr. who married Avarilla Yancey in 1817 in Mecklenburg Co., VA. According to sources on Ancestry, one of their children was a Beverly Daniel. I have not been able to account for this Beverly Daniel in any census records. I had come across your Beverly Daniel in Granville Co., NC in the 1860 Census, but the record states that he was born in North Carolina. Also...the census record states that he was born in 1818. This would all work out nicely if....the census record is in error and he was actually born in Virginia, or my Martin Daniel lived in Granville Co., NC for a time which is possible. Another piece to this puzzle is that your Beverly Daniel did have a son named Martin Daniel. So....the possibility is sure there that your Beverly Daniel was a son of my Martin Daniel Jr. and Avarilla Yancey. It may just take some more digging to nail this one down....or disprove it. Good luck in your search. Sincerely, Charlie Rathbun 276 Winchester Ridge N Jasper, GA 30143
Charlie, Is your Martin descended from Josiah and Elizabeth Key Daniel? They had a son named Martin and this is the family I'm researching. Charlie, You're right 1818 is more accurate for Beverly's birthdate according to the 1860 and 1870 census. Was their first son named Beverly?
