I believe there was a Martin Daniel in Mecklenburg about 1800 who was born in Granville about 1777 to John Daniel and Celia Smith. Martin was orphaned at before May 1789 and Celia's next husband, Robert Hester became Martin's guardian. I recall that Martin was said to have received some of his education in Mecklenburg and supposedly relocated to Meck. around 1800. They had a son named Martin and this is the family I'm researching.
