    3. Nursery, TX was a small farming community about 8 miles west of downtown Dallas, TX, in the late 1800's, named for it's numerous plant and tree nurseries. After 1948, it received it's mail from Grand Prairie, TX - Nursery no longer exists, that land now being within the boundaries of Irving, TX. Dallas County would be your area of research for deeds, censuses, etc. Assuming a birth date of from ca. 1830 to 1840 or so for your William Thomas Daniel, he at best could be an as yet unknown cousin or nephew of the ancestor of this Daniel (no "s") line - Thomas Daniel, b. 1786, GA, probably in the Oglethorpe Co. (or surrounding counties) area. Two of Thomas' sons (Eli and William Berry) moved to Randolph Co., AL ca 1840-1850 (where there were/are other unrelated Daniel families), where they multiplied, and some of their descendents came to northwest TX, near the historical Palo Pinto Canyon area as farmers and ranchers. His third son, Seaborn John Daniel, lived in generally Newton Co., GA., died in AL,. buried in GA. Six sons, four daughters, one son, George Mayfield Daniel (my great grandfather, my Mother's grandfather) came to southeast TX (Montgomery/Liberty Cos.) in ca. 1868. The Sam Houston connection is not blood line, but collateral, as grandson, Price, married Jean Houston Baldwin, a second or third (don't remember right now) granddaughter of old Sam's third marriage to a Lea girl from MS (or LA?). Several of George Mayfield's brothers (Thomas, Joseph??) also came to TX after the Civil War, but I don't have them fully documented yet. As far as I can determine, Stovall is not a name collateral to this line. Anne Wolff O'Brien Richardson, TX [email protected]
