    3. Robert, OK, but I wasn't aware that Jeremiah m. a GOODE; that would explain why the HOLLOWAY family and Jeremiah HATCHER are seen together. Thanks for that bit of info. One John HOLLOWAY m. GOODE, Mackerness GOODE is seen with Paul HOLLOWAY (some say our Huldah's brother) and Jeremiah HATCHER (Sheriff) (ca 1795, SC). MATTHEWS/MATHIS is another family of Southside VA and part of the GOODE family. I see a Peter MORGAN who petitioned for guardianship for one, Mackerness GOODE, minor. They must have used that name over and over in the GOODE family...and, you may know this, but the name, MACKERNESS, comes from an early woman who m. GOODE. I picked this up in an AL book in my possession; rarely use the Internet...but, guess I should. Do you have a direct GOODE line?
