In the case of Daniel, my interest begins with John Henry Daniel's marriage to Sarah McUlmurray and moves forward in time towards the present, because each of their descendents down to the current day are also descendents of "Capt" John Hurst. I am tracing John Hurst's descendents. I have identified over eleven-thousand four-hundred descendents to date. Here is the total sum of what I know about John Henry Daniel. My data (source was either or both of the late Stella Cooke Odom or Faynelle Busch McCombs) says he was a Church of Christ minister. He was born 2-Oct-1855, supposedly in Murfreesboro. However, I have nothing on his parents in my database. But in poking around on the Internet, I found a researcher named Steve Primm has posted data at Ancestry World Tree for a John Henry Daniel, identical birth date, born in Readyville, Rutherford Co., TN, to Henry Thomas Daniel and Martha Minerva Brown. That researcher shows the father of Henry Thomas Daniel to be another Henry Thomas Daniel b. 1802 in Goochland, Virginia. Henry Thomas Sr's father was Ichabod Daniel b. 10-Aug-1756 in Virginia, son of Obediah Daniel b. 13-Jan-1710 in Goochland VA, son of William Daniel and Mary Mosely. Steve Primm shows the above-mentioned data, but lists no wives and no children for John Henry Daniel. Possibly they are one and the same, possibily different, and possibly Stella & Fay were wrong in their research. Too bad they are both dead and we can't ask them. That's it.
