I descend ( ggf) from Robert Williams DANIEL, Esq. ( 1809-1865) of Jefferson County, GA and his 3rd wife, Mary Jane RENEAU ( 1830-1912), daughter of Rev. Russell RENEAU and Elizabeth STOCKTON of Jefferson County, TN, later of Newton County, GA and Crawford County, AR. Robert was born in Greene or Wayne County, NC, the don of Robert C. DANIEL ( abt 1765-aft 1830) and Penelope LANE ( 1773-1846). We have Penelope's age, DOB and DOD because her obit was published in the Southern Christian Advocate ( SC edition) in 1846. We also know via DNA testing to whom RWD descends - Capt. William DANIEL of Middlesex County, VA. (kit# 20707) and he was related to Josiah DANIEL and Chesley DANIEL of Granville County, NC. We just do not know who was the father of RCD. We are also not sure what the C. stood for. Some in the family have said, Chaney and some say Chesley. My best bet is Chesley. John R.
