    1. [DANIEL] Roll Call- Thomas Daniel, b. 1786, GA (and down lines)
    2. Anne O'Brien
    3. Thomas Daniel, b. 1786 GA (parents and/or siblings unknown), married 1807 in Clarke Co., GA to Martha "Patsy"Smith, b. NC,:(father William Smith, b.. NC, d. 1823, GA, mothers name unknown - possibly Chaffin). Martha "Patsy"s only known sibling was Hannah Smith, b. NC, married 1803 in GA to James Madison Lovvorn, b. NC. Martha "Patsy"s niece ( Hannah Smith Lovvorn's daughter, Betty) later married Isaac B. Daniel (of the Aaron, Aaron line) and since descendents of both the Thomas Daniel and the Aaron Daniel line later moved to Randolph Co., AL, a number of mis-asssignments have been/ were made. Thomas Daniel first documented in 1807 tax roll of Oglethorpe Co. with one poll, and believed to be the Thomas Daniel,"Orphan" from Oglethorpe Co. who drew land in the 1807 Land Lottery. Thomas Daniel died intestate in 1852, left a considerable estate for the times. No farming equipment or slaves, and it appears he may have been a cotton broker. Martha had predeceased him, and the four children below shared equally in the distribution of his estate. This family has ALWAYS signed and spelled their name Daniel - one "l", no "s" Children of Thomas and Martha "Patsy" Smith Daniel were (1) Leah, b.GA, married (1) 1830 William Louis/Lewis Camp, eight children, and (2) Mr. Stewart, no children of this marriage. Lived GA, AL, GA (2) Eli, b.1809, GA, married Milbra Puckett, 1830, GA, moved to Randolph Co., ca.1840, ten children, d. AL. (3) William Berry*, b. 1813, GA., married 1836, GA. to Rebecca Bellah (orig.Ballagh -Irish) documented by Newton Co. Marriage Records, two children shown 1840 Newton Census, lose him after this - rumored to have moved to Elbert Co. (*He was NOT married to Mary Melton, the niece of Mary Melton Daniell as some sources claim - firstly, he was too young in 1828 and secondly, that Mary Melton married William B. "Billy" Daniell, s/o George, s/o 1743 William Daniell). (4) **(This is my line) Seaborn John, b.1819, GA, d. 1890, AL, married 1840, GA, to (1) Nancy Jane Almond, b.1822, GA., d. ca.1862, GA. (2) in AL.to Elizabeth ??, widow, no children of this union Ten children born to Seaborn John and Nancy Jane - at least four of whom came to TX after Civ.War. In birth order: John Thomas Daniel, 1842, (Co.D, 4th GA."West Point Guards", No. VA; Co.K.7th &10th CSA Cav.) Martha Louise Daniel, 1844 (married James Matheson, CSA) Newton Daniel, 1845 **George Mayfield Daniel, 1846, (CSA, 17th Alabama, Co. E.), Bapt.minister, married Sarah Elizabeth Virginia Lowery, ca 1872, TX M.A. (Mary Ann??) Daniel, 1849 Oliver Daniel, 1851 Joseph Daniel, 1853 Elizabeth Daniel, 1855 (married, lived, died GA or AL) Melodius Fields "Cappy" Daniel, 1859 (lived in Chambers or Randolph, AL, area as late as 1890) Nissia (Nancy) Daniel, 1861, d. 1934, married James Thomas Harwell, both lived, died, buried Muskogee, GA (Note: Some sources list twin boys born 1857, but they may have been stillborn, as no census or family record can substantiate this). **Georgia Ann Daniel, b.1785,TX, eldest daughter (of 10 children of GMD and SEVL) , married in 1905, TX to James Ernest Washington Faulkner, b. 1786, MS, direct line decendent of John Faulkner, b. 1750, VA and Sarah Tinsley, b.1756, Essex, VA.(lived NC, to Elbert Co., GA ca 1788. I have the branches of this line pretty well documented, if anyone has interest.). Two children - Ernestine Carey Faulkner, b. 1910, (my Mother) and Charles Daniel Faulkner, b. 1918. Both deceased. The other nine children (and the grandchildren) of GMD were farmers, businessmen, publishers, ministers, missionaries (China), ranchers, storekeepers, educators and a couple of politicians of some note in TX.. I also have a good deal on the descendents of Leah Daniel Camp, and many of the descendents of Eli Daniel in and through Randolph Co., AL to TX, if anyone thinks there may be a connection (spousal names, dates, collaterals, locations). Anne
