    1. Re: [DANIEL-L] Alexander Daniel
    2. Bobby: I was trying to wait and see if I could find any proof - I believe that I've figured out this Daniel line & I've found another descendent of John M. Daniel who I've been e-mailing, her name is Barbara Daniels (yes with an "s" like you). I think their parents were Amos Daniel and Mary Fenn dau of Zacharia Fenn.(Although Zacharia's Will was registerd in Jefferson Co., GA - he had lived in Washington Co., GA and left that property to his widow.) Amos had be in Washington Co., GA since about 1794, when he served on a Grand Jury - which puts him in place for the births of James and Alexander. I have no doubts. The more I research, the more I find colateral families around this Daniel line in GA - the more I find that their families are in Monroe Co., AL too. This Daniel line connects back from Amos, son of Nathan Daniel who died in Putnam Co., GA abt 1809, Nathan's parents were Joseph Daniel and Sarah Barnes. I think most of the other Daniel's lines in Monroe Co. are part of the Simon Daniel line out of Edgecomb Co., NC. This includes the William Daniel b. 1797 in NC and his wife Susannah Sawyer - the naming pattern is very distinct with the use of Simon, Joseph, Stephen, Elias, and even Alexander. So, when I thought that your Alexander was in Shelby Co, Al in 1870, it was really another Alexander - a John Alexander Daneil of this same line. This part of the line is from Lewis Daniel and Terisa Barnes - Lewis being the son of Joseph. This line seems to be around LaFayette, Chambers Co., AL. And, this is also the same Daniel line that settled in Conecuh Co. - near Burnt Corn which is near the border between counties. Yes, we've always hear that our Daniel lived in Burnt Corn - but they didn't. Burnt Corn was the Post Office on the east border. Our families lived south of Claiborne near the Alabama River which was the west border between Clarke & Monroe - closer to todays Monroeville. I also believe that William James Daniel who married Angelina Norris and migrated to Santa Barbara, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil along with my Daniel's was also part of this line, probably in Chambers Co. They didn't go on the same voyage - but were neighbors there. There was also a Drusilla Daniel who's Will was probated in Coosa Co., AL in 1833 by a Watson woman. Supposedly, Drusilla Daniel dau. of Joseph, married Jesse Bateman. When Drusilla supposedly died, this Bateman married a Watson & they lived in Chambers Co. I think that there is something connecting here - but, can't figure out the relationship. When many citizens of AL including Monroe migrated to Union Co., Ark & Ouchita Parish, LA (they are across the river from each other, I understand) a John Daniel b. 1818 in GA who married Martha Barnes b. abt 1825 in AL, migrated with them. When John Daniel died, Martha married Peter Davis. Peter was the brother of Lydia Davis, wife of my James Daniel. As soon as I get this all down in my computer I'll ship you and Dianne a copy. Take Care. 3. RE:William Daniel b. 1797 in NC. I have a William DANIEL born 3 Sep 1797, probably in Greene County, NC, the son of Robert C. DANIEL and Penelope LANE of Greene County. NC, after 1812 of Burke County, GA. All of your bunch lived within spitting distance of my Robert Williams DANIEL, Esq. of Wadley, Jefferson County, GA. Do you connect to the TARVERS of Washington, County, GA? Or, the GREENS of Emanuel County, GA. These are strong collaterals of my bunch and I do have collaterals in the Putnam County, GA area, primarily Morgan County, GA. We also know from whom this bunch descends, DNA wise. John R.
