Besides, my Daniel line may or may not be connected to your line...especially since the name Robert is in my line of Daniel/Daniels. They were in Tennessee but left for Illinois in the very early 1800s. My earliest Daniel member is Bazel/Basel/etc. Daniel who was born in North Carolina and his father was Jerimiah Daniel...we don't have any wives connected to them but my great-grandfather sure looked like he had a lot of Indian blood in him. If we can "prove" that Robert was your Ben and Andrew Sampson's father, then there may be a chance of finding out. Oh, I forgot to mention that there was another Daniel who registered for WWI in Bedford County in 1917. His name was Clint Daniel and he was born sometime between Sampson and Ben (I think it was 1878). Since Ben, Sampson and Clint were the only Daniel who registered in Bedford County, there has to be a family connection...I don't think Clint was a brother, but he could be a 1st cousin. I will keep trying to find your Ben's parents...but it sure hurts not having any information for the periods between 1880 and 1900. I have access to Ancestry.com so if you run into anything and want me to look for it, let me know.
