Daniel in Bedford County, Tennessee. All my life I've been told I was related to Jack Daniel, well before I knew who he was. My grandfather was from Bedford County and worked at the distillery as a young man at the time Jack Daniel was there. . My grandfather's name was Charlie Bates . He was the son of Annie Criscoe whose mother was Mary Polly Daniel who was the daughter of Robert C. Daniel. I wish I had something written but my family oral history convinces me that Robert C.
